The first 'other plane' is a De Havilland Comet 4 or 4B, apparently of British European Airways of blessed memory.

Very nice snowy pictures ;)

and planes too! [Image: top2.gif]

The LOT bimotor is one of the famous Ilyushin Il-14 , a big success of russian aircraft industry in the 50's

The KLM jet is a McDonnell-Douglas DC-9-32

The AEROFLOT is a Tupolev Tu-134

Then, as Chris said, a De Havilland /Hawker Siddeley Comet 4B probably from BEA indeed

Next thumbnail, we can find 2 planes from LOT fleet = an Ilyushin Il-18 in the foreground, and a Tupolev Tu-134 in the background.

Helicopters breeds some researches for me:
Mil? but what types?

The De Havilland Comet will probably be a Mk 4B. The 4B had a reduced wing span and much shorter range and I'm fairly sure that BEA only used this version. The livery is the white/black/silver fuselage with red wings. Who thought THAT combination would look good?

The Comet 4B was a very comfortable aircraft; with the possible exception of the Caravelle I've never enjoyed flying more than by the Dan-Air 4Bs I've flown on various charter flights. (And I've since flown in everything from Boeing 707s and Airbus 320s to Il-18s and ATR-72s.)

I've never flown on Comet, and I probably have had loved to... and I remember the Comet 4B from Dan Air London operating in Paris Le Bourget in 1973, it was so beautiful with its colours red/white :)
