Background stuff.....these two both interesting vehicles VYE235 Dennis Emergency tender and SLD661 Dennis Breakdown of which there are few colour photos , but unfortunately only see back ends . Curiously reg.no. If it's the one in the Vaux 10/4 picture, it's a Commer 8cwt Express; unless there's a better view I'm easy with letting it go. The 10/4 pic and the Victor have a Triumph Mayflower across the road which could be worth a page if a better view. |

Great to see VYE235 still about but its odd that reg. details have it as 1980 Dennis Elite , can't be just a typo . DENNIS ELITE MS LN 1516 TRUCK is often used by DVLA as a dustbin identification when they can't be arsed to name a Dennis properly - same thing happens with eg Ford Cargo 1615. The 1980 date may just mean that someone looked up when the real Elite appeared, or might be a re-registration point after restoration. |
