BTW, I make sure that I do not re-post vehicles which I added somewhere else, as far as I can ;)

Not another one... Don't mention the war. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xnNhzgcWTk

I'm sorry, but I think wartime-footage and 70s Hong Kong movies are far more interesting than recent Hollywood productions etc., because they are full of rare, vintage cars. If you don't like it, don't visit certain movie pages ;)

They still fill the database and vehicle listings :p

But not as worst as other -*cough*- specific cars [:kiki]

:D I got the Fawlty Towers boxset recently, must watch it.

The BBC is going to censor Fawlty Towers in future broadcasts. Very wrong.
I'll validate this, if identical pictures are found they can be deleted.

I don't like this idea. It makes the documentary seem incomplete. What if someone watches the documentary on TV, spots something interesting and then checks with IMCDb only to find that the vehicle is not there due to some lame rule.

The priority is not to have endless duplicates. The same war footage will be used again. robi screened them himself.

The least we can do is to put those vehicles right here, in the comments.

Hmm, some vehicles have been validated but some are still waiting...

chicomarx BE

2013-02-10 00:28

All were validated but robi submitted a new bunch of tanks after. A cunning trick to take the admins by surprise.

G-MANN UK

2013-02-11 14:26

So are they going to get validated?

Robi DE

2013-02-11 14:56

It was not a trick, it was just another episode...

chicomarx BE

It's a 12-part series? "Die Teilung"... "Die deutsche Wiedervereinigung" You could have mentioned that.
Yes, they will be validated.

IS anyone going to change the identified unknowns on this show? Else they could be delted.

Many of them have a comment, but I don't know how to fill it in. If nobody cares, they could be deleted, since this pictures does not fit our 'guidelines'...

You say that nobody care, but you're in luck, because I care. The fact that some of them haven't received any comments yet is due to the fact that we lack experts, not because the current users do not care. I might have a go at some of these picturea later, but I'm away from my computer right now.

These pictures do not fit our guidelines? Like, how? Not having any comments? Or being from a documentary? Either way, wrong on both counts. You may confuse the guidelines concerning documentaries using old footage with those using new footage. Historical documentaries are not concerned by these guidelines at all.

There are hundreds of this kind of documentaries, I even doubt this is a 'historical documentary'. What's next '50 years Holland'? I think we have enough of these WW2 vehicles...

Lateef NO

2013-03-15 21:15

I know there's plenty of these documentaries, but there's even more movies and TV shows. That's why the site is as active as it is. And we have already come up with a solution to that problem already - when the same footage appears in another documentary, they vehicles can be put in the comments. This is not the case, though, they are all new vehicles. How can you doubt that this is a historical documentary when it's obvious that the documentary is about the history of Germany for the last hundred years. And by historical, I do not mean dated documentaries (those made at the time these events were contemporary). Also, I think we have too many Ford Crown Victorias on the site, but there's really nothing I can do to prevent the invasion, other than going out of my way deleting every new entry that comes sweeping in. Fortunately, that's not going to happen. Rejecting some types of vehicles just because we are bored of them is sandwad-type activity, and has not one bit of my support. Besides, many of these vehicles are not even from WWII, but from the inter-war period. That era is not covered to the same extent as the WWII era.

garco NL

2013-03-15 22:09

At least these Crown Victorias are in movies...

Lateef NO

2013-03-16 11:40

At least these WWII vehicles are in documentaries that are allowed on site, according to the guidelines.

garco NL

2013-03-16 19:49

OK then, but someone should fill in the commented ones. I do not know how to list them...

That's still borderline. Up to me these would not be really worth listing, but since people seem find these interesting I guess we can have these. But some who know these vehicle should help to name them properly.
