It's not so easy... The "first" time the S class principles (in term of development, building methods, equipment ... ) was applied, it was for the the W128. She wasn't named S Class, but at DaimlerChrysler, it more or less recognized (and by the customers too) as the first S Class. After that, the W108/W109 got to market, not officially named "S Class" but included in the "S Class" books. This was the beginning af the S/SE/SEL abreviations... The W116 was the first official "S Class" on the market. The W126 was the first which was named S xxx So, as you can see, which one was the first S Class ???? |

I believe in the DC Parts list And based on this, except for some specific cases, C is for Coupé, W for Limo and R for Cabrio. But anyway, I will check if the 140 is one of the exceptions... |

Kowalski, first you said it a C215, now you say it's a W215.
