1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria
My Cousin Vinny (1992)
This vehicle is older than 1987.
It is more like an 80-85 model.
It has the older style tail lights.

1964 Buick Skylark [4367]
My Cousin Vinny (1992)
I'm actually wondering if she is completely right here.
There was a body style change between 1963 and 1964 on both the Skylark and the Tempest.
I can see how a 63 Skylark could be comfused for a 63 Tempest, or a 64 Skylark could be confused for a 64 Tempest.
But not a 64 Skylark for a 63 Tempest. I don't think the "body length, height, width, wheel base and wheel track" were the same between 63 and 64 on these cars. These cars were made larger for 1964.

Independent rear suspension and posi-traction... I could see how those would have been offered on the 64 Tempest, specially if it was actually a LeMans or a GTO... which might have been ordered with that equipment.

Anyone know these cars well enough to weigh in with a comment?

However the point is obviously that a 64 Skylark couldn't have made the tire marks that were seen.

1977 Ford Thunderbird
The History of Thunderbird: The Definitive Story (2004)
These are nice cars to drive. Very luxurious feeling.
The reason they didn't put the 460 in them was because this was the first year of the smaller, downsized Thunderbird.
They made them lighter and put smaller engines in them to save gas.
The largest engine you could get was the 400 V8.
They just weren't particularly fast because of all of the emissions equipment they were using by that point in time.

1987 Buick Skylark
The Simpsons (1989-2013)
Yes, there WAS an 87 Skylark.
In 85 the Skylark was still the X body and was only available as a sedan.
In 85 there was a car called the Somerset Regal. It was a coupe and was an N body car.
In 86 the N body coupe was renamed the Somerset, and they came out with a new N body sedan called the Skylark.
This was also true for 87, meaning that since the car pictured is a 4 door, it could be an 87 Skylark (it doesn't much look like it though).
In 88, both the N body coupe and sedan were called Skylarks.

It is also a Skylark Limited- note chrome strip down the hood w/hood ornament.
It also has several options such as body color sport mirrors and wire wheel covers.

1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
Night and the City (1992)
1991 was the first year for those tail lights.
And yes cieraguy is right because they used body color trim on the sides starting in 93 or 94.
So it definitely could be a 91-92, possibly a 93.

1981 Buick Century
Daylight (1996)
No, this roofline WAS offered in 80 as well as 81.
The Skylark sport sedan WAS indeed ultra rare- different grille, different tail lights... though I thought the Sport sedan had black paint on the doors instead of chrome. I know for sure that the Omega ES had the blackout trim instead of chrome in 81. May have been the same for the Skylark Sport sedan but not positive.
There's another more common Skylark as well to the left of the Century.

1980 Buick Century
Taps (1981)
80-81 Century. Tip offs are the hubcaps and ornge turn signal lights at the rear.
The engine used is listed on the fender- 3.8 V6 (Buick motor) or 4.3 V8 (from Pontiac). In 1980 they also offered the 4.9 liter V8 (the Pontiac 301).
2008-06-15 08:45
1980 Buick Century Limited
Daylight (1996)
The other tip off from the other phto is the orange turn signal lights at the rear. Only in 80-81.
This was a great car. Had the 3.8 V6 and was surprisingly fast.
2008-06-15 08:42
1980 Buick Century Limited
Daylight (1996)
Yes, an 80-81 Century Limited. We actually owned this same car. And it was this same color green, too!
NOT a Regal. Those hubcaps were only offered on the Century.
The Century became front wheel drive in 82, but Buick turned this body style sedan into the Regal that year- albeit with different front and rear styling.

1980 Buick Century
The Namesake (2006)
Yes. 2008-06-15 08:39
1980 Buick Century
The Murder of Sherlock Holmes (1984)
It's an 80 or an 81. There is a difference in the grille between those two years, but the photo isn't clear enough for me to tell which it is. 2008-06-15 08:38
1981 Buick Century
Cocktail (1988)
It's an 81 Century.
The 80 model had a different grille.

1974 Buick Century 455

1973 Buick Century
A Week of Fear (1975)
The side crease was a Buick Styling cue from about 1967 to 1977 or so. 2008-06-15 08:34
1975 Buick Century
Two of a Kind (1983)
No, it's a 75 or a 76 Buick Century. 2008-06-15 08:33
1973 Buick Century
Kojak (1973-1978)
I always thought it was weird that Kojak drove a Buick.
Not normal for a cop.
2008-06-15 08:32
1977 Buick Century Custom
Clerks. (1994)
This is a 76 Buick Century.
The Century Luxus was only offered in 1974. Possibly 73 also, but I know for sure it was not offered in '75.
2008-06-15 08:30
1963 Oldsmobile F-85
Black Fist (1975)
That's actually not true. The Cutlass was a high line model of the F-85 starting in 1962. Possibly even 1961.
Just the same way the Skylark as introduced as a high line model of the Special over at Buick.
Likewise the LeMans being created from the Tempest over at Pontiac.

1963 Oldsmobile F-85
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Yep. 2008-06-15 08:26
1963 Oldsmobile F-85
La classe américaine (1993)
Well, the 63 F-85 and 64 F-85 are two totally different cars.
Though I admit I cannot tell if it's even an Oldsmobile from the photo (kind of blurry to me).
2008-06-15 08:25
1962 Buick Special Skylark Sport Coupe
Nous irons à Deauville (1962)
You're wrong. It's a 62 Buick Skylark.
The Special didn't have this trim, but the Skylark did.
It also has Buick hubcaps on it.
We had this exact car when I was growing up.
It also has the "Skylark" emblem on the C pillar.

Out on Bail (1989)
It's a 75-76 Valiant. 2008-06-15 08:16
1973 Plymouth Duster
Colors (1988)
I believe it's a 73-74 Plymouth Duster. Look at the windshield. Looks like a Duster not a Valiant. I'm pretty sure it's the 73-74 grille. Could be the 75-76 grille, though. Hard to tell. 2008-06-15 08:16
1974 Plymouth Valiant
Kojak (1973-1978)
Yes, it is a 74. 2008-06-15 08:14
1974 Plymouth Valiant
Columbo: Mind Over Mayhem (1974)
A brand new car at the time.
Note Pontiac LeMans 2 door on the right.
2008-06-15 08:14
1975 Plymouth Valiant
Zombi 2 (1979)
It's also a base model because of the lack of chrome trim on the doors and the center pillar. Also basic hubcaps instead of wheel covers. 2008-06-15 08:13
1975 Plymouth Valiant
Car Wash (1976)
Yes. The paint color is called Honey Gold. Surprising that it didn't come with a vinyl top. Most of them did. 2008-06-15 08:12
1974 Plymouth Valiant
Street Trash (1987)
Yes! 100% correct!
However, it appears to have Dodge Dart hubcaps!
2008-06-15 08:11
1975 Dodge Dart Custom
Miracle (2004)
NO! This is a 1975 Dodge Dart Custom. The Valiant had a different tail light treatment.
Note Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser wagon in background.

1975 Plymouth Valiant
Arizona Heat (1988)
Ugh. And it gets ruined, too. 2008-06-15 08:08
1975 Plymouth Valiant
Arizona Heat (1988)
It's actually a 75 or 76 Valiant (see grille- different than in '74), being run off the road by an 80 Aspen or Volare! 2008-06-15 08:07
