Forensic Files (1996-2017)
This vehicle belonged to John Button; the boyfriend of Rosemary Anderson who was hit and killed by serial killer; Eric Edgar Cooke who was responsible for 8 murders and 14 attempted murders committed in Perth between the 26th January and the 1st August 1963.

Button was wrongfully convicted for Anderson's murder and was sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter with 5 years each in Fremantle Prison and Karnet Prison Farm.

At Button's appeal, Cooke stated that he (not Button) was the one who ran down Anderson but the judge dismissed Cooke's claim as the judge said if he did ran down Anderson; her body would've ripped off the sun visor on Cooke's car.

Button wasn't only the one wrongfully convicted for one of Cooke's murder.

In December 1961, Darryl Beamish; a 20 young old deaf mute was also wrongfully convicted for the murder of socialite and MacRobertson's Chocolate heiress; Jillian Brewer who bludgeoned and mutilated with a tomahawk in the bedroom of her flat at Cottesloe, Western Australia one night in 1959.

At Beamish's appeal, Cooke made a statement saying that he (not Beamish) was the one who killed Brewer and like Button's appeal two years later, the judge also dismissed Cooke's claim as the judge called Cooke a liar and a worthless scoundrel who would say anything to make the justice system look foolish.

Cooke was the hanged at Fremantle Prison on the 26th October 1964 and became the last man (and person) hanged in the State of Western Australia.

That's one of five planes of the Qantas Boeing 747 fleet painted in four different Aboriginal Art livery.

These were painted in 1993 to celebrate the international observance of International Year of the World's Indigenous People.

Only three of the five planes have the name Dreaming in their nicknames, that plane in the picture is called the "Wunala Dreaming" and is one of the three designed by Aboriginal Artist, John Moriarty and his wife Ros.

The plane's body work shows the spirit of Indigenous Australians in the form of kangaroos bouncing on the red desert landscape as the word, "Wunala" is Aboriginal for "Kangaroo".

That and when I was in Sydney in May 2010, me and mum did a Water Taxi tour of Sydney Harbour and Port Jackson and one of the sights was the blue building that was used as the Sydney Water Police's main office building in the show.

In Broad Daylight (1991) This TV film was based on the murder of Ken Rex McElroy; a career criminal and "town bully" who was shot as he was sitting in his pickup truck with his wife on the main street at Skidmore in Nodaway County, Missouri on the morning of the 10th July 1981.

Over the course of his life, McElroy had been charged 21 times for various offences but kept being acquitted.

From late 1949 to late 1971, McElroy had been suspected of theft but managed to avoid criminal charges as he would intimidate witnesses either by sitting outside their houses or by following them.

McElroy's criminal career took a dangerous turn in late 1971, when he got Trena McCloud; an 14 year old girl (and later his 4th and last wife) pregnant and as a result, charged with statutory rape and later assault and arson after he shot the McCloud Family dog and burnt down the house of Trena's parents.

By June 1973, he was charged with stalking and making threats after he told Trena's foster family that he would "trade girl for girl" to get his child back as he knew what bus route that foster family's biological daughter took and what school that she went to.

He was later charged with the attempted murder of Romaine Henry; an local farmer that was shot twice by McElroy at Henry's farm on the morning of the 27th July 1976, but was acquitted as two hunters testified that McElroy was with them shooting away from Henry's farm and under questioning by McElroy's lawyer, Henry admitted that he had a concealed petty criminal record from over 30 years earlier.

The events that led to McElroy's murder was that on the 25th April 1980, a few of McElroy's children entered the local store owned by Ernest "Bo" Bowenkemp and his wife; Lois where one of the children stole some candy and led to an argument, after McElroy's children left, McElroy started to stalk the Bowenkemp family and on the 29th May 1980, McElroy fired shots in the air outside the Bowenkemp family house and then on the evening of 8th July 1980, McElroy went into Bowenkemp's store and shot him.

Cold Case (2003-2010) This show did air an episode in Season 1 that was based on a actual case; The Boy in the Box case.

Unlike the case in the episode, the real case occurred in February 1957.

On the afternoon of the 25th February 1957, a college student had discovered the body of a young boy aged between 3 and 7 was found wrapped up in a blanket inside of a cardboard box in the woods off Susquehanna Road in the Fox Chase Section of Philadelphia.

The investigation at the time reveal that the boy had signs of being stave severely and had scars on parts of his body and the box was the same one that contain a bassinet sold at the JC Penny's store at the intersection of 69th Street and Chestnut Street in Darby, Pennsylvania sometime between the 3rd December 1956 and the 16th February 1957.

Further investigations revealed that boy's age suggested that he was born sometime between 1950 and 1953 and that he was first found by a man who was checking his muskrat traps and had failed to report fearing his traps would be confiscated by police.

Over time, there were a number of theories to who was the boy and how did he died, one theory was that the boy was the son of a woman whose stepfather ran a foster home 1Ĺ miles from the where the box was found after he died accidently and boy was placed there by them so the stepfather avoid his stepdaughter from being exposed as a unwed mother.

The theory was dismissed as the boy's DNA did not match the stepdaughter.

Another theory that was put forward by a woman (known as "M") was that the boy (whose said the name was Jonathan) was sold by his birth parents to M's abusive mother in the summer of 1954 where he was subjected to physical and sexual abuse for over two years and that he was killed after being slammed to floor.

M later stated that her mother gave the boy a crude haircut and as her and her mother were getting the boy's body out of the boot of the vehicle, a passing motorist had stop and offer to help but they're ignored him.

This theory was supported by a male witness who stated in February 1957 that he saw a vehicle similar to the one that the women were driving and had stop to offer help but was ignored so he drove off, he also stated that the women were blocking the rear number plate.

To this day, the case remains unsolved and the identity of the boy is still unknown.

Aftermath (2017) I've heard of this film, this film was based on the crash of Bashkirian Airlines Flight 2937 and DHL Flight 611 that collided in mid-air over ‹berlingen in Southern Germany on the night of the 1st July 2002.

The crash resulted in the deaths of 71 people onboard the 2 planes; 69 (60 passengers (including 45 children) and 9 crew members) on Flight 2937 and the 2 pilots on Flight 611.

The investigation into the crash of Flights 2937 and 611 was the result of conflicting orders from the Traffic Collision Avoidance System onboard Flight 2937 and the Swiss Air Traffic Control as well as the main the radar screen and phone lines were down for regular maintenance.

The main characters in the film are based on those involved in the disaster:

Roman Melnyk (Portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger)- Based on Vitaly Kaloyev; a Russian architect, lost a wife and two daughters when their plane; Flight 2937 crashed, was involved in the search for bodies from the crash, was later sentenced to 8 years for the murder of Peter Nielsen on the 26th October 2005, later released on the 8th November 2007.

Jacob "Jake" Bonanos (Portrayed by Scoot McNairy)- Based on Peter Nielsen; a Swiss Air Traffic Controller, was the only air traffic controller on duty when Flights 2937 and 611 collided, was later stabbed by Kaloyev in front of Nielsen's family in the garden of his home at Kloten in Zurich, Switzerland on afternoon of the 24th February 2004.

Even the planes in film are based on actual planes involved in the crash:

AX Flight 112- Based on Bashkirian Airlines Flight 2937; A Tupolev Tu-154, was enroute to Barcelona, Spain from Moscow, Russia with 60 passengers (45 were children) and 9 crew members aboard.

DH Flight 616- Based on DHL Flight 611; A Boeing 757-23APF Cargo Carrier, was enroute to Brussel, Belgium from Bergamo, Italy after a stopover from Manama, Bahrain with 2 pilots aboard.

Gamer wrote A supercar from Lebanon...that's new.

I read about this vehicle, the Lykan HyperSport is the third most expensive car in the world and the first car to have headlights embedded with jewels, these contain titanium LED blades with 420 15 carat diamonds.

The buyers can have a choice of having diamonds, rubies, sapphires or yellow diamonds embedded into headlights depending on the buyer's choice of vehicle colour.

The vehicle has gold stitching embedded into the seats with a holographic display in the centre console and motion interactive features.

That and I saw the model from the movie from Games World in Joondalup for $50.

rjluna2 wrote Could this be Australia spec? See reversed windscreen wiper here.

Yes, all modern vehicles with RHD are fitted with windshield wipers facing to the passenger side on the left.

That and the vehicle has the new South Australia number plates.

1976 Lotus Esprit [Type 79]
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
I saw this on "Top Gear's Bond Cars Special" and according to the show, when Lotus heard about Eon Productions were shopping for a new car for Bond, the head of Lotus Cars Public Relations at the time; Don McLaughlan thought that instead of going and asking Eon to use their new Esprit for the movie, why not make Eon come and ask to use the Esprit for the movie.

So McLaughlan took a new prototype Esprit with the Lotus brandings taped over and parked the vehicle in front of the Eon Productions' main office building at Pinewood Studios and went to see a friend and when the staff left the production offices for lunch, they noticed the prototype and when McLaughlan return, he got in the vehicle and drove off without answering any questions.

Law Abiding Citizen (2009) I saw this film, and this film shows another problem in the American Justice System where American prosecutors are forced to make these "plea bargain" deals with the criminals and their lawyers in hope to avoid a trial where the criminal could walk away a free man knowing the prosecutors can't retried them for the same crime due to the American "Double Jeopardy" law.

These deals would often see the criminals do time in prison for a lesser charge than the one they were originally charged with and would see them out in a few years and would also lead to tensions between the District Attorney Office and the detectives who worked on the cases in which the criminals were originally arrested and charged for.
