Midnight Oil: Beds Are Burning (1987) Where they bloody hell is the original video clip on Youtube gone???
Fuck the modern laws!

I've watched the video many times, because I like the song, and now I want to look for one second-short scene, because there is an for Australia rare car visible. I wrote in the forum about it a long time ago, but I cannot remember, when, where and what a car was to see. :/
For those, who can see the original clip: this car (perhaps a Peugeot?) is to see shortly, when they were driving with the Land Cruiser into the town, in a highway-curve, shortly after (or before) the Boeing 747 is to see.

Got me :??:

Volkswagen Kombi [Typ 2 / T1]
Svarta palmkronor (1968)
100% it's Brazilian. By the bumper and the back lamps not a really early T1. I don't know, when the T1-production stopped there. 2009-07-02 17:26
Volkswagen 1200 De Luxe 'Fusca' [Typ 1]
Svarta palmkronor (1968)
@stu: it's filmed in Brazil, so the European names like "Standard" or "Export" probably doesn't fit. 2009-07-02 17:23
1975 Volkswagen Convertible 'Super Beetle' [Typ 1]
Dallas (1978-1991)
If the colour is the very rare "anconabluemetallic" (seems so), it's a 1975. 2009-07-02 17:21
1969 Volkswagen 1300 [Typ 1]
Agowa gongpo (1978)
No 1302. Flat front and no extra vents in the C-pillar and the hood. And this grey was available in the late 60ies, but not after 1971/72 any more.

I would say, it's a 1969 or 1970-version of the 1300 or 1500, because it hasn't the black/beige-wheels of the 1968-model-year.

Lateef wrote I'd really love to lay my hands on one of those... :D

:/ by that text I thought/hoped to see something different, than this not really nice 80ies-car. Maybe I have sometimes more thoughts comparable with sixcyl's in my mind...

1977 Porsche 911 Carrera Flatnose bodykit
Monkey Shines (1988)

1970 Porsche 914 [Typ 47]
L'insolent (1973)
Yes, the 4-cylinder of the VW 411 inside. It has the VW-wheels, which are too thin for the 6-cyl-version. 2009-07-01 13:02

atom wrote Or 1602 or 1802? I don't know the difference.

It's not too identify by the front (except the missing chrome-trims of the 1974+ 1502). From this angle you only can see the model-year. By this grille, I think, it's a 1971/72-version.

@Ralph? :hello:

Ah, thanks. I know we had discussed about it recently.

Could it be, that this car is the car with the second most names in the world? No.1 was this Humber/Singer/Hillman/Paykan-model.

1970 Audi 100 2-Doors C1 [F104]

Vinyl roof :??:
I cannot see one. It was always black.

As I know, VW and Audi never had offered real "vinyl" roofs in orign, not like Opel/Vauxhall and Ford. At VW/Audi it was just painted.

1978 Vauxhall Chevette HS
The Worlds Greatest Rally Cars (2000)
Again the point of discussion: what "origin" country is correct for that car? Where it was designed and constructed originally? Later on it was assembled and sold by GM under a plenty of different names in many countries around the world.

Just by a short brainstorming I got in my mind:

Opel Kadett C, assembled in D and B
Vauxhall Chevette
Chevrolet Chevette (USA)
Chevrolet Chevette (Brazil)
Holden Gemini
Opel K 180 (Argentina)
Chevrolet Kadett(?), the ZA-version of the Kadett
Isuzu Gemini

Wasn't there something South Korean, too?
2009-07-01 12:29
2005 Chevrolet Aveo [T200]
The Pink Panther 2 (2009)
It's an US-scene for sure. The houses in the background are in US-style (Art Deco I think). And in France they wouldn't hang their flag in that wrong way like shown above. :D

By the way, a propos French flag: last weekend there was again the "Original Hollandse Kaas-Koning" ("original Dutch cheese king") on our local market, a Dutch guy with a Dutch trailer selling Dutch cheese. But I have no idea, why all 8 flags, hanging around his trailer were French ones. :??:

Volkswagen Kombi [Typ 2 / T3]
Danger Zone (1997)
Should be corrected in "built in ZA". Perhaps to "origin ZA", too, because it's a later one. 2009-07-01 12:10

1984 Pontiac 2000 Sunbird
Murder, She Wrote (1984-1996)
By the back perhaps the Pontiac-version? It's a J-Car, a kind of "world-car" by GM anyways. 2009-07-01 11:46
