| 1975 AMC Gremlin Camp Nowhere (1994) | Incorrectly identified as a 1979 in the movie, apparently thinking we wouldn't know better. | 2013-01-11 06:06 | |

| 1981 Mazda RX-7 [FB] Batman: Year One (2011) | They probably considered it "too background", but since it is an animated movie and the car was obviously drawn to look like a specific model, I think that makes a difference.Someone put some effort into making it authentic. | 2013-01-10 15:55 | |
| 1975 Dodge Colt South Central (1992) | US version/badging of a Mitsubishi Galant. Rare find these days. | 2013-01-10 05:57 | |
| 1981 Mazda RX-7 [FB] Batman: Year One (2011) |
Should include a page for the green car behind it, since the animator very clearly intended it to be a Ford Escort. It even has the Ford oval.I say 1986. -- Last edit: 2013-01-09 23:22:11 |

| 1975 Plymouth Valiant Only Fools and Horses.... (1981-2003) |
In the late-90s, I saw one of these on the road during a vacation in San Diego, California. I thought it was just a private customization, but perhaps there may actually have been a company that converted them? -- Last edit: 2013-01-09 04:39:31 |

| 1974 AMC Gremlin D12: Purple Hills (2001) | This one is a base model with optional rally stripe. | 2013-01-09 00:55 | |
| Chevrolet Cavalier RS Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction (1997-2002) |
Not A Z24. No Z24 lower-body moldings. Probably an RS.I used to have a 1994 Z24 and can tell right away this isnt one.1991-94 Z24's had moldings and body panels that were the same color as the rest of the car,not the cheaper-looking black plastic this one has. -- Last edit: 2013-01-08 15:46:36 |

| Chevrolet 3100 Alan Jackson: Country Boy (2008) | Mr.Jackson performs on top of this truck throughout the entire video. This is the only view that shows many telltale details since the truck is so deteriorated. | 2013-01-08 15:32 | |
| 1980 Buick Skylark Mr. Karate (1993) |
Cool. Any idea if these taillights were for overseas sales or are put on an earlier model car later on? http://www.reocities.com/MotorCity/Flats/6782/skylarkIIIa.html -- Last edit: 2013-01-08 04:48:21 |

| 1980 Buick Skylark Mr. Karate (1993) | Didn't the 1980 MY have amber turn signal lenses on the corner? This looks solid red. However, its possible the Egyptian version used a different taillight. | 2013-01-08 03:56 | |
| Filter: Dose (1995) | New title is correct. My shift key was not working properly. | 2013-01-07 19:07 | |
| GMC S-15 Salmonblaster: Freeway (1996) | Video revolves around the band and angry girlfriend.Angry girlfriend rides away in this truck with the band members running after her. May only be 2-stars but is used by a main character. | 2013-01-07 19:04 | |
| Filter: Dose (1995) |
As far as only including cars that have a definitive role, I was using this as a templete of sorts: /movie_1004509587-AC-DC--It-s-a-long-way-to-the-top-(If-you-wanna-Rock--N--Roll).html /movie_1004509862-Rush--Subdivisions.html Not all cars have a significant role, but still deserve mention due to clear presence. -- Last edit: 2013-01-07 06:59:34 |

| Filter: Dose (1995) |
I fixed the pictures. I only included cars that are very prominently seen. There are also 2 old cars that were not very common by 1995. The 2 cavaliers are municipal vehicles with official seals on the side, which makes thema little more distinctive. The Nissan was not a very common car in that part of the country even when new and most were pretty rusted by the mid-90s. If you think any should be deleted, though, please feel free to do so. I removed the unneccesarry Ford Tempo. -- Last edit: 2013-01-07 07:00:38 |

Industrial-metal band from Cleveland,OH. Reportedly, the band members drove around Cleveland playing music from their van, blasting a loudspeaker, while filming peoples reactions and the passing scenery.Allegedly, all of outside footage is candid and unrehearsed, including people annoyed at the passing noise. The video may be of some historical value to residents of the Cleveland area. |

| Cops (1989-2013) |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1L1APOGhLI I don't know the episode number. Driver flees from the police after a traffic stop. He's in a Nissan Altima, which plays a significant role in the segment. |

| Cops (1989-2013) | If I can find out how to capture screen shots I'd get pictures of cars that play a notable role in the segment (cars used in drug busts, prostitution stings, etc)but I wouldnt know the episode number. | 2013-01-05 06:55 | |
| Cops (1989-2013) |
I love this show. Its cool seeing rare and unusual cars parked in the background of the old episodes, especially in areas those cars are now very rare (like seeing all the 70s cars in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh). I imagine it will be difficult to add entries because it might be hard to get episode numbers, and there will be a disproportionate number of similar police cars. I'd love to see it added to.what kind of criteria should be used on what cars to include and what kind of compromises in terms of similar police cruisers? |

They do that in Michigan, too.a lot of classic car owners can get an authentic plate from the year their car was manufactured and register it as an antique. My car is from 1974 and they did not make 1974 plates-they started using stickers that year.I found a 1973 plate with 1974 and 1975 tabs.surprisingly, they approved it, but I had to scrape off the 1975 tabs first.I've had police officers stop me,saying I was driving with improper, long ago expired plates, and the secretary of state office said the police have to contact the main registration office for verification of ownership since it won't show up on any police dept. searches, but it is in fact legal so long as the car is only being used for collector purposes. |

| Mazda 3 Moron 5 and the Crying Lady (2012) |
This may have been locally assembled;Ford supplied CKD kits of Mazda vehicles to the Philippines for local production. Black car on the right is a Toyota Vios. |

| Moron 5 and the Crying Lady (2012) |
And the vehicles mentioned are among the most popular in the Philippines. The Phillipine market is one of the more unique auto scenes in that some of the top sellers are fairly obscure elsewhere. |

| 1977 Pontiac LeMans Steel (1997) |
Yeah, I own such a car.For authenticity I left the original plate on the front. which brings up a point that slipped my mind. This car has a plate issued in the 90s or later.A late-70s car thats been in California since new should have a blue plate with yellow digits. Its probably a salvage car with a generic plate temporarily attached to it. |

| 1977 Pontiac LeMans Steel (1997) |
I think MOST states do it this way. Georgia, tennessee and Kentucky even have the county of registration on the plates.Indiana has county codes on theirs (The current plates have a number with the county name underneath) and Ohio issues county stickers. They have 1 sticker for the year and a second sticker for the county code. This all makes it pretty much impossible to transfer a plate to a new owner. If you trade a car in to a dealer theres a good chance it will end up in a different county anyway. -- Last edit: 2013-01-01 20:11:42 |

| 1977 Pontiac LeMans Steel (1997) |
I'm not familiar with California law. Is it legal to re-register plates from scrapped cars on new cars, or cars previously registered out of state? the fact that it shows up on the site means its a legit numbering sequence so probably not a fake plate. I assume fake plates are like phone numbers used on movies-using numbering sequences that are not in circulation (or the famous "555" phone numbers). In many,if not most, US states, a plate is registered to the owner and is transferred to the new car the owner buys.Usually in California the plate is permanent to the car and stays with the vehicle after transfer of ownership. Could anyone from California shed light on this? Is it legal to re-use a plate after the original car was recycled? Can some plates be registered to studios, sort of like "dealer" or "in-transit" repair plates are in some states, that can be moved from car to car? -- Last edit: 2013-01-01 04:02:47 |

St Regis or Gran Fury. Good luck trying to find one now. Hollywood wrecked every one of them. |

| 1981 AMC Eagle SX/4 Smokey and the Bandit Part 3 (1983) |
It was an interesting concept-a 4-wheel-drive hatchback-but didn't fully catch on.The wagon was the best selling version of the Eagle but the SX4 was the best looking. AMC made around 30,000 SX4s so I'm a bit surprised that we haven't had another one on here yet. |

| Toyota Corolla [E20] Vampire (1979) |
Toyota was still trying to build a reputation in the states when this car was made,so it wasn't very popular in most of the country. IMO, one thing that makes a car notable is its rarity nowadays.Relatively few people today will ever see one in person, so capturing the screenshot seems worthwhile.I think posting a "sighting" on film that would be pretty scarce in real-life is one of the virtues of this site. Old Cadillacs, Corvettes, Mustangs etc can still be seen at car shows. But to see a car like THIS now, many of us have to resort to watching old films or looking up pictures online.Thats just my opinion, though. |
