2004 Ford FAB1
Thunderbirds (2004)
It's been a while since i visited, hence the late comment.

Jason LOLOLOL's comment on the car being build on a Ford is simply not correct.

The car was assembled/build in a shed at Pinewood Studios, by a team of crewmembers not employed by Ford, but by Production Company Working Title (Universal is only the distributor of the movie). Ford slapped a Ford grille on it by design, after copying the Rolls Royce concept, but the car was build together from suitable parts for a MOVIE car. Sorry, but I have too many pictures and video of the entire build, next to talking to about half of that crew on a regular basis to say otherwise. And i'm actually sitting next to the movie concept model at this very moment.

So it is not build on a Ford, neither a Thunderbird or other. The registry "model Origin USA" is correct, as there's a Cadillac underneath.

If you compare the first and last screencap of the full-size car in Gliffhanger's post, you will see different windshields and canopies. When shooting began, the double curved canopy was not finished. The supplier could not pull off the job of fabricating them and went through a lot of acrylic.

As a last recourse, 3 single curved canopy parts (windshield, opening canopy and rear window) were made and attached to the vehicle so as not to hold up the shooting schedule. After the scenes at Wharton Academy were shot (1st screencap), a different supplier made the new double curved acrylic pieces, and later scenes were shot with the new canopy (last screencap and main photo at top of page).

All other screencaps are of the CGI vehicle.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
The car is currently owned by Propstore of London www.propstore.com/league.htm, and was on display at the 2006 London Motorshow. They named it differently on their site, but i'm sure they hardly know how to name it. A full description and more pictures can be found here www.propstore.com/lxgcar.htm. One of the guys at Propstore told me that the elephant sculptures at the front always get damaged when the car is driven of the trailer.

The car was build by carbabies www.carbabies.com/

Unlike what Ford claimed, they never completely designed the car. It was originally designed with a Rolls grill, before RR decided not to participate. The only concept miniature made for the movie of this car, even shows the original front. After Ford got involved, it was changed. They did design the interior. I still have to find out if they designed the complete interior.

The full size driving car was built on a Cadillac chassis, was roadworthy (had a concealed license plate under the rear), overall very well made for a movie car.

Made for Movie
Blade Runner (1982)
This is the "sedan", like all the other BR vehicles build by Gene Winfield. Custom build. Nothing was borrowed designwise, nor a showcar or some preconceived concept car. The red one pictured above is on display in Florida. 2008-10-27 16:35

Blade Runner (1982) Re: the flying police car....They were not just flying, two of them can be seen driving around, one even in close ups.

Four were made for the movie:
2 driving (number 44 + 54)
1 aluminium one (to be hung from cables)..same one as seen in those two screencaps above
1 process car (i.e. detailed interior, no exterior for shots of the actors inside the car)

The 2 driving ones were build on a VW beetle chassis and engine.

Several other vehicles not listed here were made for the movie, all of them driving around.
