1st I thought it is the same car (both with S plates) -> /vehicle_1003750-Ford-Escort-1978.html
But there is GL badge on the boot lid to me - shouldn't GL have squared headlights?

dsl wrote Smells the same car to me in L trim. Badge is probably 1.3L.

The later "Princess 2" was named in France "Austin Princess" (w/o "2"), hard to confirm what was the brand between 1976 and 1978, but perhaps Austin too.

1960 FSO Syrena 101 [S-15]
Gangsterzy i filantropi (1963)
In case of the early Syrenas it is better to mark this type of changes with the date/year of implementation for production (so 1960 in this one). "Rounding" of years in situation when we had so many modifications made in these cars in short time intervals could lead to confusion.
Also, despite FSO did some attempts with the "Model Year" system in the late 1950s Warszawas, it finally started to mark next versions of own cars with these 10x/20x designations.

Dwaj panowie 'N' (1961)
Yes, but worth to note that 660 cars of one model wasn't so small and "easy to lose" number. In 1960/61, when it was filmed, the 1958 cars still had to have notable representation among all Syrenas on our roads. 2017-02-15 14:17

1979 Princess 2 1700 HL [ADO71]
The Professionals (1977-1983)
dsl wrote ...The linked text about window trim can be read 2 ways, with the second being that previous black trim had a new alternative alongside of brown to match those schemes which came with brown roof/pillar treatments - so black trim is not a dating feature.

Maybe option then, it is not the only IMCDB's pre-11.1980 Princess with black frames:
/vehicle_855600-Princess-2-2200-ADO67-1978.html
(not so young, so could be customized)
/vehicle_719015-Princess-2-2000-ADO71-1978.html

Back to main car - HLS we can exclude, by what I see now, back then it had to be the only trim level with rubber strips along bumpers. Also in 1979 (and later I guess too) it had squared headlamps even in 1700 version.

EDIT:
Looking at this brochure we see that HL had dark trim of side windows already in 1979 (it is wrongly dated for 1977).

1979 Princess 2 1700 HL [ADO71]
The Professionals (1977-1983)
Entry created with thumb posted by stronghold here: /vehicle_112412-Princess-1800-ADO71-1978.html
IMO worth page, as ep. 3.01 was made in 1979 and it is model "2", which was quite fresh back then.
It looks to me like '1700 HL'.
But isn't it a little interesting, it has dark/black trim of side windows? They claim that it was black or brown since 11.1980: http://www.leylandprincess.co.uk/Princess2anew.htm
It rather cannot be L-trim with window frames in body color and optional wheels of HL-HLS, because of silver trim on wheel arches.

Plus 91 K(ipper). First models of this modified range were made in 1978, but I think lifted rear axle was introduced a little later.
It most possibly is Greek assembled vehicle.

EDIT: Checked - the lifted axle was available already in the previous 90 range, so I believe in 91 it could be also to get since beginning - since 1978.
