| 1953 Riley 1½-litre RME Dance with a Stranger (1985) |
The registration number is NUV 85 and the vehicle details on DVLA are: Date of Liability 01 10 1989 Date of First Registration 28 04 1953 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1496cc Vehicle Colour BLACK This is the wrong engine size for an RMF and as far as I can find out, several months after end of production for the RMA. But I agree with johnfromStaffs that it doesn't look like an RME. Possibly an RMA built late in 1952 but not used until the following spring. |

| 1955 Sunbeam Alpine Mk.III Dance with a Stranger (1985) |
The registration number is RHP 704, which according to DVLA was first registered 25 05 1955. So probably a Mk.III. -- Last edit: 2013-04-06 12:31:21 |

This car is RHD and the registration dates from 1936/7 so it seems likely to have been in the UK from new. Is it possible it was built in the UK? -- Last edit: 2013-01-06 21:17:43 |

| 1950 AEC Regal III Town on Trial (1957) |
The following message board post dating from 2001 and 2007 gives some information on this model of turntable ladder. http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/aecsociety/message/9275 It states that this is one of ten ordered from Merryweather in 1947, built on AEC Regal bus chassis and delivered to various fire services across the UK between 1949 and 1951. NPJ 750 is stated to be the second of two delivered to Surrey County Council, and to have been in use until 1971. It is also said to be preserved, but gives no more details. See also http://www.talbottrng.freeserve.co.uk/fspg/lists/tlp.html which shows the other Surrey example (NPA 250) before the start of restoration in 1999. It is not clear if the resoration was completed as NPA 250 is listed here http://firebrigadesofsurreypreservationtrust.webs.com/preservedfireengines.htm as "whereabouts unknown". -- Last edit: 2013-01-06 20:55:46 |

| 1953 Citroën 11 B 'Traction' Indochine (1992) | This vehicle and the BMW 502 in the same picture should be 1 star - they are just "setting the scene" and don't move and are not use by any character. | 2013-01-05 23:39 | |
| 1934 Austin Ten Open Road Tourer Indochine (1992) |
One star as it is not used by a character. As this is a 1934+ two-seater with dickey, it is a 'Clifton' and not an 'Open Road Tourer' according to the Austin Ten Drivers Club website: http://www.austintendriversclub.com/dating10s.htm Most pre-1939 Austin Tens have been listed on imcdb as 'Austin 10/4' and not 'Austin Ten', for consistency this one should be a '10/4 Clifton'. |

The Dodge VK in andrepa's link has different headlamps. I would suggest this is a Canadian-built Dodge T-110 / D60. T-110 seems to be the civilian name and D60 is the military equivalent, but other examples on this site have all been listed as T-110. It may be the tipper truck version, see picture here: Link to "www.facebook.com" |

This scene takes place in the "German" building site, which was actually in England. If the plate is false, it may be that this is actually a RHD model sourced in the UK. As there is no better view of the cab I don't think it's possible to tell the difference. -- Last edit: 2012-07-29 22:15:22 |

This could be intended to be a Fiat AB41, but there are many differences. Information and photos of the AB41 and other Italian armoured cars at: http://the.shadock.free.fr/Surviving_Italian_Armoured_Cars.pdf The closeup of the gun turret shows it is covered in what looks like thin metal sheeting. Possibly a Daimler Dingo with false bodywork. -- Last edit: 2012-05-27 11:00:01 |

Information (in French) on the Canadian-built Dodge T-110 trucks, with many photos: Link to "www.asphm.com" These trucks have been modified for the film, to look like the Chevrolet 1533x2. | 1941 Chevrolet 1533x2 30 cwt Sea of Sand (1958) |
These are the correct model of truck as used in WW2 by the Long Range Desert Group. From http://lrdg.hegewisch.net/lrdgvehicles.html : "The 1533x2 used by the LRDG were purpose built military modifications of the 1 ½ ton YR series Chevrolet trucks. These modifications included a special truck bed as well as modifications to cab, front grill and suspension. Further modifications were made to the trucks once they reached the LRDG machine shops. Because the trucks were being made for the British Army they were now right hand drive. The popular "water fall" grill of the civilian truck was replaced by a grill with fewer slats to allow better air flow." Presumably there were not enough genuine Chevrolets available to make the film as some of the trucks used are Dodges modified to resemble the Chevrolet.
