Did you mean Humber Hawk Pilou? A Humber would be my first guess, but the disc in the top centre of the grill is unusual even for a badge added by the owner. 2006-04-06 12:45

Could that be "London Transport" as it's British? That also ties-in with the 'bar and circle' London Transport logo on the front.

It took the 3 litre engine of the Austin-Healey 3000. When the big Healey stopped production they needed a model to take its place. But it was never a success and only sold in low numbers. 2006-04-04 22:34

The Long Good Friday (1980)
G-MANN wrote How did you find that out?

As Simon says the DVLA is good if you think you have a probable manufacturer and have the reg number.

http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp go to "vehicle enquiry" and insert reg number and manufacturer.

A couple of sources on the web state its a Giulietta Spider, although the year could be later (so will remove it for the time being). I would like to get all the pictures from the movie, but thats not yet been possible - only publicity shots. 2006-04-04 13:17

I've got to agree...although you don't actually see the impact. I guess they set up the "crashed" vehicles carefully as a static shot. Jacking up and removing parts to keep any actual damage to a minimum, so they could be completely restored later. ;)

1949 Fordson Thames 5cwt Van [E494C]
Invisible Man (1958-1960)
The name 'Popular' for the saloon (sedan) body was used after the introduction of the 100E Anglia from 1953.

This is a Ford E494C 5cwt Van built from 1949. Never actually named as the 'Anglia' van 1949-53 or 'Popular' van, only known as such because of the car models they were based on.

Fordson Thames 5cwt van [E494C]
The Iron Petticoat (1956)
Ford E494C 5cwt Van built from 1949.

http://www.vintagecommercialvehicle.freeserve.co.uk/ford/ford.html

Never actually named as the 'Anglia' van 1949-53 or 'Popular' van, only known as such because of the car models they were based on. The name 'Popular' for the saloon (sedan) body was used after the introduction of the 100E Anglia from 1953.

Although not easy to see from the picture, the van in the movie could be from 1954 since it does not appear to have a roof mounted windscreen wiper.

The makers name was Fordson Thames from 1939 - 1957 and Ford Thames from 1957 - 1965 I believe.

1976 Vauxhall VX [FE]
Doctor Who: Shada (1992)
Vauxhall VX1800/VX2300 [FE] 1976. This is the later vehicle 100% sure.

The first FE (1974) were slightly different. The Victor as DAF555 says had smaller rectangular headlamps and turn signals within a chrome suround. The Ventora had four square headlamps and the turnsignals were under the bumper. The grill also had "cut-in" corners.

For 1976 the appearance was cleaned-up and the names dropped in favour of VX1800 and VX2300, with larger headlamps turn signals blended-into the corners as the picture, the grill was without the "cut-in" corners. Two headlamps were used for both models, so its not possible to say if its a VX1800 or VX2300.(The six-cylinder models were also dropped that year)
