| Jeremy Clarkson: Head To Head (1999) |
Every year since 1996, Jeremy Clarkson has released his own brand of annual DVDs, all of which have had a very similar flair throughout. Each DVD will normally contain its own theme, and are often a good source of entertainment, even if not quite as sophisticated as Top Gear. In this release, Jeremy concentrates on pitting various cars "head to head", such as a Jaguar XJR against a BMW M5,g and drawing a conclusion of what is best. The highlight of the DVD consists of a unique race whereby a Ford Cougar is pitted against a Ford Focus WRC and a Formula 1 car, each starting later than the other - after starting over a minute later the Formula 1 car wins. The beginning race also features a Porsche Carrera against a bike, in a bid to prove the cars superiority. Guest appearances include the likes of Colin McRae, Johnny Herbert and Tiff Needell. As well as cheesy guitar music throughout, these releases also have an annual tradition of Clarkson destroying "some kind of awful car", which for me is always the highlight. In this instance, Jeremy destroys: The Hyundai Accent - kitted out to be a banger racer where it takes its punishment during a banger race, only to be subsequently sent to the crusher. His most tepid destruction act to date, in my opinion. These destruction acts, plus the remaining ones in all of his DVDs, can be found in a recent mix I made - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TzNeEHhARY -- Last edit: 2006-12-05 23:40:04 |

Sorry Porsche fans, but the main (and only this time round) car that Jeremy destroys in this release is the Porsche 911. It suffers continual abuse, such as having a piano dropped on it, being shot at, and even driving it into a building with Clarkson still in it. He declares that it is very strong because it is German, and therefore hard to kill - at the end he resolves this by dropping it onto a caravan. -- Last edit: 2006-12-05 11:31:45 |

Every year since 1996, Jeremy Clarkson has released his own brand of annual DVDs, all of which have had a very similar flair throughout. Each DVD will normally contain its own theme, and are often a good source of entertainment, even if not quite as sophisticated as Top Gear. In this release, for the first time ever, Jeremy pits 9 of the best "hyper cars" head to head, all of which are capable of over 200mph. In this awesome spectacle, cars such as the Ford GT40, Mclaren F1, and Ferrari F40 are seen on screen at the same time for the first time. This was a pretty good package all in all, and other highlights included the first ever glimpse of the TVR Speed 12 in action, as well as a surprise ending in which Jeremy finds the "fastest stupid car in the world", as can be seen in the image below. As well as cheesy guitar music throughout, these releases also have an annual tradition of Clarkson destroying "some kind of awful car", which for me is always the highlight. In this instance, Jeremy destroys: The Porsche 911 - continually abused by smashing it into walls and dropping pianos on it before destroying it completely by dropping it over a caravan. These destruction acts, plus the remaining ones in all of his DVDs, can be found in a recent mix I made - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TzNeEHhARY -- Last edit: 2006-12-05 00:03:21 |

| Clarkson: The Good The Bad The Ugly (2006) |
This release was quite different G-MANN, as he moves from the Top Gear test track and into America, for the duration of the DVD. Typical of Clarkson, it was pretty much an excuse to slag off the Americans as much as possible, in his quest to see if America have made any decent cars at all. His conclusions were that the Ford GT was one of few good cars, but that it wasn't even entirely American made...personally I feel that some of his earlier releases surpass his more recent efforts. -- Last edit: 2006-12-04 19:30:48 |

Yes I agree, but lets be honest most of his destruction acts are fake The Montego is one of the worst because it is simply too obvious, and the same goes for the bar skittles segment in Top 100 Cars - in one of the shots you can clearly see that the explosion occurs before impact abundantly well. Twingoman, have you seen all of his releases as well? -- Last edit: 2006-11-23 20:56:30 |

| 1989 FSO Polonez 1.5 Leisure [B51] Apocalypse Clarkson (1997) |
A truly vile car, and thankfully Clarkson shares the same opinion as me. This is the first car to be destroyed in this release, and the car is disposed of by using two models in an unusual game of conkers - this same stunt was also replicated in Top Gear in a game of caravan conkers. One of the FSOs is also dropped from a height at the end of the stunt |

His name was Hank: "This here is Hank - he's a computerised robot, so therefore has no soul, he likes the Corvette. So I did a deal with him. I said look mate, if you can get to the end of this lake bed without me stopping you, you can have this car!" ![]() |

| 1984 Chevrolet Corvette [C4] Apocalypse Clarkson (1997) |
The second car that Jeremy destroys in this release is this Chevrolet Corvette, which I am sure will be controversial here In one of his most spectacular antics to date, The Corvette is driven by a computerised robot across a desert, whilst Clarkson attempts to destroy it using a helicopter gunship. It is a spectacular sight for sure, but the end destruction does pale a little bit in comparison to some of his other destruction acts. -- Last edit: 2006-11-23 16:33:26 |
