Too late, in fact. Production switched over to Scorpio II in October 1994. It's also a hatchback. 2013-05-19 00:04

I'd say 1995-96 based on the fact that the mirrors appear to be folded in and are positioned in the edge of the front door window. You couldn't fold in the previous mirrors.

Pre-Crown Vic due to the grille. It's a 1981 LTD due to the lack of both hood ornament and Ford-oval. 2013-05-15 18:43

Then I simply fail to understand the meaning of the five star rating of the Mustang and the Charger of Bullitt, as they have been used less and have less to do with the plot - the first one goes for the Charger especially. 2013-05-15 18:18

1972 Chevrolet Impala Sport Sedan [1M-39]
Slither (1973)
Same way the red Plymouth Valiant of Duel earns five stars, I feel this one does, too.

The two motorhomes are too deeply involved in the plot to have just four stars. The identity of the villain remains hidden throughout the whole movie, completely veiled from any identification whatsoever, and could be compared with the truck from Duel, we never get the identity of the driver (the villain), and thus the truck itself serves as the villain, and is therefore part of the movie. We only get the identity of the villain at the end of the movie, rather than in Duel, where we can only guess who it is during the cafeteria sequence.

Seeing that the motorhomes get five stars, I find it only reasonable that this Impala gets them, too, seeing that it's the subject of the chase, same with the red Valiant. It is also seen and used more than the motorhomes, but does not appear until 1/3 into the film, unlike the motorhomes, that are there from the beginning.

Slither (1973) Yes, I was quite surprised when I learnt that it wasn't here. I've always wondered what those intimidating motorhomes were. In fact, I speculated about them being made just for this movie as I wondered if anyone would buy them in real life due to their fearsome appearance. I can't imagine that this film did anything uplifting to them commercially.

In spite of having chrome doorhandles, this looks like a 1999-2000 based on the bumper strips and grille (I'm leaning towards 2000 as the grille doesn't seem to reflect any light). 2013-05-14 21:47
