Ford actually has an SUV named that? I doubt it. "The 2010 Ford Exploder. Guaranteed to barbecue your entire family on impact. It's the Pinto's big brother." |

| 1941 Studebaker US6 The Beast (1996) | A bit difficult to see, yes, but I included it as I thought it was strange the Coast Guard would be using what looks like a 1950's-era army truck in 1996. They also use WWII-era Jeeps. Is the Coast Guard really that underfunded? | 2010-03-12 19:54 | |

This is not a Toyopet Crown. Confusion arises from the fact Stronghold misunderstood which of the two cars in the original main pic this was for. It was for the one on the right, covered by a tarp, as clearly mentioned in the first comment. I've rectified this by replacing the original main pic and the car name suggested by Valiant1962, and marked the Datsun on the screenshot. -- Last edit: 2010-02-14 10:27:45 |

They're from deleted scenes, yes, sort of, but said scenes were edited back into a director's cut of the film I believe. |

| Land-Rover 109'' Series III Nine Miles Down (2009) |
The Land Rover is still probably the world's most instantly recognizable offroad vehicle, after the Jeep. While these Geo's and Suzuki's and other smallish offroaders do pack a punch and are capable of much more than what people give them credit for, they still haven't cemented themselves in the public's mind the way Land Rover and Jeep have. This is mainly due to the fact Land Rovers and Jeeps have been around longer and have spent more time in film and television being depicted in South American and African (etc.) locales. They both were also originally marketed as tough workhorse vehicles, and, in the Jeep's case, were born from military hardware. I don't know much about the history of the Geo Tracker or Suzuki Samurai, but their overall aesthetic tells me they're marketed primarily as "urban" type vehicles, offroad capabilities aside. I, myself, prefer Land Rover and Jeep to Geo and Suzuki because I gotta agree. Whether they can outperform the British and American vehicles aside, they just look like toys. When I look at them, Barbie Dolls are the first thing that come to my mind (my niece has a pink one for her dolls). Also in my honest opinion their wheelbases are just too short. All in all, they just don't look the part to me. So, I have to side with Ingo on this one. Even if all I myself would do with a Landy is, well, play in the mud with it. ![]() |

I just prefer, where possible, three-star vehicles and up be a little bigger in their respective pictures. I do confess I should've asked before changing it first. Well, actually I did broach the subject beforehand, I just went ahead and did it without waiting for a reply which I should've done. -- Last edit: 2010-01-29 06:10:18 |

| Freightliner LDV Mobile Command Vehicle Locusts (2005) | Maddeningly there are few good shots of this thing. It's a big motorhome converted into a mobile lab, or rather a Freightliner truck cab front end with a motorhome/mobile lab body.
