1947 Citroën 11 B 'Traction'
Un drôle de Caïd (1964)
The actors are in a Dauphine I think. The car immediately behind it seems to be a Citroen 7CV parking next to a Peugeot 403.

1982 Ford Granada Break 2.8i Ghia MkII
Tout doit disparaître (1997)
It is a series 2 (MK II is NOT an official Ford designation, but used by Ford fans to differentiate between the models) post facelift (built from September 82 as an 83 model, then virtually unchanged until the end of production of this car line in Summer 85) Granada Ghia, as can be seen from the wing (fender) badges, the three pane grille with chrome surround, the chrome bumper corners (would be plastic pieces on lesser Granadas) and the bodyside moldings with the chrome inlay. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I own four post facelift Granadas, among them the very same car. "Turnier" was the official model designation for all Ford estates in Germany. In England it is called "estate", because this is the generic British term for this type of car. What the car was called in other export markets is beyond my knowledge. Also, a 2.0i (which would be a four cylinder) was not available in those years, since the only injected European Ford engine then was the 2.8 (Cologne) V6. The series 2 post facelift Granada Ghia was available only with the 2.3 carburettor V6, 2.8 carburettor V6 or 2.8 injection V6. Automatic gearboxes were standard with the Ghia, manual ones optional. I suggest the badge on the tailgate reads 2.8i, unless someone can convince me that a 2.0i was available in France (I wonder why there would have been no injected four cylinder Ford engines marketed elsewhere in the world, but learning about Ford marketing strategies never ceases to amaze me) and sends me one of these engines, preferrably still in a Granada and backed by a 5-speed manual. Cash waiting. I think the car in the pic is a Ford Granada Ghia 2.8i though.

1939 Buick Special Touring Sedan
Saboteur (1942)
My guess is 1938 Buick. 2006-01-08 03:17
Kenworth W-900
WarGames (1983)
It apears to be a W900. 2006-01-08 03:11

DAF 55 2006-01-08 02:59
1929 Reo Flying Cloud Mate
Papillon (1973)
The car appears to be fairly small, thus it is unlikely that it is American. This peculiar louver arrangement on the sides of the bonnet and the stepped radiator grille must give some hint. 2006-01-08 02:57
1949 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Mulliner
Under Suspicion (1991)
The cemetary is Bromley, that's for sure. 2006-01-08 02:45

Les uns et les autres (1981)
Why look at pics when you can buy the car?

If you continue clicking on next photo, you will see a shot of the rumble seat area with these grips I was talking about.

Made for Movie Batmobile
Batman (1989)
These Batmobiles (yes, there is more than one) were built in England off the stretched-out platforms of a Chevrolet Caprice and a Buick Riviera, which were literally scrounged from a scrapyard. The cars were fully driveable and used in the two Batman films directed by Tim Burton. 2006-01-08 02:35
1935 Daimler Straight Eight Dottridge Brothers
Danger Man (1960-1961)
Appears to be a Daimler 15 or LQ22 with a hearse body typical of Alpe & Saunders or Abbott.
What a beauty!

1931 Ford Model A Roadster
Les uns et les autres (1981)
The door handles and the grips next to the rumble seat lid spell Ford. My guess is 1930-31 A roadster. Any other pics from the car? 2006-01-08 02:16
1930 Marquette Sedan [30-37]
Djurgårdsnätter (1933)
Why is it so hard to identify ca. 1930 cars? This might be a 1930 Pontiac, the last year for wooden spoke wheels.

1949 Mercedes-Benz 170 S [W136.IV]
Malèna (2000)
170 has a much narrower and generally more 'flimsy' architecture, as well as a very prominent positive camber of the rear wheels and a more rounded roof contour above the windscreen. I therefore doubt that it is a 170. Furthermore, the car in the pic has horizontal bonnet moldings, so it could also be an errant post war 220 trying to sell itself off as a 39-43 230. Wartime movies are notorious for featuring post war cars, since war cars are rare for obvious reasons. Where are our Mercedes experts on this? 2006-01-08 02:09

1938 Moto Guzzi Alce
Malèna (2000)
Looks like another Moto Guzzi Falcone. I might be wrong, but I think Falcones were post war. This would be a prop glitch if I'm right.

1928 Fiat 509
Malèna (2000)
Very likely an OM. Don't ask me what type, but it is early 20s. 2006-01-08 01:32
1931 Moto Guzzi Sport 15
Malèna (2000)
Looks like a Moto Guzzi Falcone. Totally wrong for a wartime movie. Falcones are post-war. 2006-01-08 01:31

1949 Mercedes-Benz 170 S [W136.IV]
Malèna (2000)
Mercedes, most probably a 230 W153. Ironically, this movie car has the seats from a post-war W110-111-112 fitted. The original had a bench seat. 2006-01-08 01:28

1956 Chevrolet 3200 Task Force ½-Ton Pickup
Grand Theft Auto (1977)
Judging by the grille texture and the 'spears' on the front wings, it is a '56 Chevy 3200 Task Force 1/2 ton Pick Up.
The car behind it in the driveway appears to be a mid 70s Cadillac.

1966 Mercedes-Benz 230 [W110]
Dirty Harry (1971)
It is a 59-68 Mercedes Heckflosse (fintail) W110. If it is pre 65, it is a 190, after 65 it is a 200. 2006-01-08 01:12
1974 Buick Estate Wagon
Kauas pilvet karkaavat (1996)
There never was such thing as an "Electra" station wagon, that model designation being reserved for the sedans, hardtops and convertibles. What we have here is a Buick "Estate Wagon" (yes, that is what Buick called their poshest - well- estates). The year is '74. 75 Buicks had rectangular headlights.

LMV B62
Voici le temps des assassins... (1956)
It is an LMV (former Laffly) B62. The City of Paris reportedly had 34 of them and at least 12 were refurbished in 1983. They are powered by a Perkins diesel mounted in the rear, forming a compact drive unit with the gearbox and rear axle. The water tank holds 5,000 litres. 2006-01-08 00:59
1937 Lancia Aprilia
Malèna (2000)
It is an Aprilia Berlina. 2006-01-08 00:50
De Dion-Bouton Arroseuse Ville de Paris
Love in the Afternoon (1957)
I did some further research on this and according to the book 'Camions De France' by Jean Gabriel Jeudy, I'm wrong.
It is a De Dion Bouton arroseuese Ville de Paris. They were especially constructed for the TAM (Transports Automobiles Municipaux) in 1930 and stayed in service until well into the 50s. Since Laffly was the most common supplier of special vehicles to the City of Paris, I assumed this is a Laffly too. These street sweepers were probably the only instance where De Dion Bouton won the contract from them. My apologies for the error.

1967 Jaguar S-Type
The Persuaders! (1971-1972)
I agree with wickey. I have never seen an S-Type as a police car, but many MKIIs. Didn't the S-type have a straight bumper? 2006-01-07 22:41
1960 MAN 635 Hauber [H55]
Danger Man (1960-1961)
Yes, and it has a KUKA refuse body. 2006-01-06 14:17
1938 Oldsmobile Six Coupe [F-38]
From Here to Eternity (1953)
It could be any 37-38 GM B-Body Coupe, i.e. Chevy (which I outrule by the 'squared off' front wings (sorry, fenders)), Pontiac (didn't they already have 'Silver Streaks' across the boot (sorry, trunk) lid?), Oldsmobile (my guess) or Buick Special. It is only possible to tell for sure, if one can see the grille. Is there a shot in which it is visible? 2006-01-06 14:02
1950 Fiat 672 F Cansa CGE
I soliti ignoti (1958)
Early 50s serie 711-735 FIAT-Cansa-CGE "Filobus" (Italian for trolleybus, literally meaning "wire bus"). Possibly with a Viberti body. If we would know the colour, one could tell who is the operator and research more on the related website, which in Italy often has a 'historical' section. Italy takes great pride in its industrial heritage and rightfully so. Any idea in which city this was filmed? 2006-01-06 13:58
1954 Mercedes-Benz 180 [W120.010]
Danger Man (1960-1961)
The narrow radiator design indicates this is an early W120 'Ponton' 180 or 180D, depending whether the gas or diesel engine is fitted. Yhe year is hence 53-56. 2006-01-06 13:32
1912 Hispano-Suiza Alfonso XIII
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965)
1912 Hispano Suiza Alfonso. There was a very nice 1/16th scale model kit made by Gakken, later reissued by Academy/Minicraft. 2006-01-06 13:07
1958 Imperial Crown Convertible
Danger Man (1960-1961)
Sorry, but this is a 1958 Imperial. The 57 had a twin-blade bumper (57 only) and most 57s had single headlights, since twin headlights became legal in all States only in 58. For more info on Imperilas, please check out my website at www.heavenlyhearses.com 2006-01-06 12:56
Ford Louisville
The Blob (1988)

Fiat 690 N
La polizia incrimina, la legge assolve (1973)

1931 Renault TN4A2
Le crime de Monsieur Lange (1936)
It is a 1930s Renault TN4C Paris Bus. The 4C in the model designation stands for 4 cylinders. RATP also operated a few 6 cylinder models to cope with the steep inclines up to Montmartre. These can be told apart by their longer hoods, which prominently protruded forward of the driver's cabin. 2006-01-06 01:05
1988 Lincoln Town Car
The Jackal (1997)
The car is a late 70s Lincoln Town Car. The standard set of wheels for any hitman, if you believe Hollywood. I mostly see them parked on parking spaces for the handicapped though. 2006-01-06 01:01
