DJ Mehdi: Signatune (2007) Anyway I was the one who entered all the names (they were all entered as unknown) so sorry, that game's already been played. You didn't miss much to be honest (it wasn't that hard to see what they really are) they're all ordinary cheap old cars turned into something hideous by the French equivalent of chavs.

DJ Mehdi: Signatune (2007) And you complain about space being used up...

I already guessed what nearly all of them were (mostly Peugeots)

Here Comes The Boom (2012) I've left 3 unvalidated (Chevy Cobalt, Cherokee, Wrangler) because I'm not sure about them (I don't think the Cobalt looks worth listing) 2013-03-26 22:47

Numberplate doesn't check out, but I reckon what they've done is stick that fake-looking C over the real first letter. 2013-03-26 22:32
Zero Dark Thirty (2012) I liked this better than Argo (which was good but the ending felt a bit too much like Hollywoodised feelgood fare) I thought the Bin Laden compound raid was amazing. 2013-03-26 21:25

Minder (1979-1994)
I found that "Cars of Minder" collection by that bloke a little while ago. http://www.flickr.com/photos/triggerscarstuff/sets/72157625727944869/ Someone could get in touch with him and ask him to share those pics, there's some interesting stuff. I thought about emailing himself myself but it felt like unless he was persuaded to become a member here, I would have a big job in adding all those cars. And I'm not really familiar with Minder (I've only ever seen 1 episode)

Bugsy (1991)
I think a number of them made very brief comments like "It this year, I know because this is my car" which anyone could say to be honest. But I know some of them seem pretty geniune.

I mean, you'd would what motivation people would have to claim some not-famous car in a film is theirs (apart from the fact there always seems like plenty of idiots on the internet) but ck-be said he thinks he was a "less-than-scrupulous seller", so maybe what could happen is someone is trying to sell a similar car, adds a comment here saying they own it, in the hope a buyer will contact them. I don't think it's unheard for people selling stuff (whatever it is) to claim it was once owned by so-and-so or was once used for such-and-such.

Volkswagen Vanagon [Typ 2 / T3]
Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (2010-2012)
I'm not that bothered but I do think it's quite recognisable if not 100% accurate but if they weren't really trying to draw a T3, would they have given it the same front door outline? If we delete this we might as well delete lots of other not-quite-perfect cartoon cars.

antp wrote What annoys me more than cartoons is endless debates about it

I know, I know... I think perhaps in future people should only bother saying cartoon cars looks nothing like what it's been named as if they geniunely mean that (no offence, Garco ;) )

And Sandie, let's not have these kinds of arguments anymore, unless I happen to offend you personally, which I have no intention of doing. Let's just get on, I respect you, you don't need to send me a PM or anything. Maybe you disagree with some of the things I write, I'm sorry. But if someone really gets offended they will say something, they shouldn't really need someone else to say something first.

Bugsy (1991)
Oh dear, it makes you wonder which other movie car owners we have listed on this site are also jokers. Thank you for setting us straight ck-be, much appreciated ;)

antp wrote It is always possible that they used a second car (Tsimsi's 1948 model then?) for some shots; e.g. interiors, etc.

I doubt it.

ck-be wrote along with the ppwk that the car won the Concours d'elegance in Pebble Beach in 1994

I didn't know what "ppwk" meant at first, then I realised - paperwork. (just so others don't get confused ;) )

Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
I'm trying to remember what was shown in the movie, was it an overhead long shot of the explosion? 2013-03-26 18:09
John Dies at the End (2012) They should have had two main characters called John to create suspense :D 2013-03-26 17:35
2003 Dennis Trident Alexander ALX400
Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
They haven't bothered to match the livery with the blue along the bottom and the real bus was Stagecoach, this is Abellio. But I suppose few would notice anyway (and those who do would be told to get a life :D ). At least they got the same model (or a similar one) Maybe they just borrowed that bus from the company and repainting it would have been a hassle (but what about wash-off paint?)

Volkswagen Vanagon [Typ 2 / T3]
Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (2010-2012)
Well, that's the thing, where do you draw the line? I think this is recognisable as a VW T3 van, it's not the best drawing but probably better than others that have been listed.

Perhaps a solution is someone makes a sister site to IMCDB for animation, like IGCD is with computer games. But then would it end up the way IGCD has? (loads of randomly-named, badly drawn stuff)

The Aristocats (1970) I'm sorry but I don't think we'll be able to identify the bike with just that picture. Many real bikes added to this site don't get identified. If you can't get decent pics, just leave this one. 2013-03-25 16:17

In America the one with this grille would be a Dodge Caravan (with a different logo) This is probably just the same as what was sold in other continents, probably not specifically designed for the South Africa market but I think it's OK to put Made for ZA to keep it simple. 2013-03-25 14:06

You are nitpicking a bit, just because they didn't bother adding that vent thing. I wouldn't say it's generic at all, it's pretty obvious what they were going for

Akira (1988) That being said there are some Made for Movie animated and model cars that have been allowed because they are "famous" or have an important role (with this it would be Kaneda and Tetsuo's bikes) eg:

/movie_57790-Thunderbirds.html
/movie_149509-Postman-Pat.html
/movie_1216475-Cars-2.html
/vehicle.php?id=129736
/vehicle.php?id=185098
/vehicle.php?id=35341

By the way Scoutstr295, "Made for Movie" should be entered as the make, not "Made" as the make and "for Movie" as the model.
