| 1980 Chevrolet Malibu Sport Coupe Art School Confidential (2006) | It's not too dark. I don't like tampering with the brightness of images, I think it's better to keep things as they are in the film. | 2007-02-05 16:49 | |
| 1996 Dodge Caravan Art School Confidential (2006) | Are you totally sure? It's when people identify cars they don't always explain why or how sure they are. | 2007-02-05 16:46 | |

| (archived) 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit I [Typ 17] The Woman in Red (1984) | Sometimes I see a reason why they do it, but what was wrong with Golf? Rabbit makes it sound puny and without much power. If they'd sold the Polo in the US, would they have called it the VW Mouse? | 2007-02-03 21:56 | |
| 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit I [Typ 17] The Woman in Red (1984) |
Before this big digression, Explorer's question was "Aren't Rabbits just Golfs with a different badge and name?" I believe they are, though I'd like to know why the name Rabbit was given to the US version, terrible name for a car. |
2007-02-03 20:55 | |
| 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit I [Typ 17] The Woman in Red (1984) | I don't like the square headlights on this US-version of the Golf and the name Rabbit is a bit of a turnoff (why did they do this?) but as for the original European Golf (with circular twin headlights) I wouldn't say the Tempo looks nicer than that. | 2007-02-03 20:10 | |
| 1978 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Pimp My Ride (2004-2007) | Those 70s Caddys are pimpy enough aren't they? | 2007-02-03 01:38 | |
| 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport Montana Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends (1998-2000) | When you told us about it on the forum, it sounded a bit more dramatic, I think you said it went airbourne and smashed sideways into a tree. | 2007-02-02 21:48 | |
| 2002 Mercedes-Benz Atego The Holiday (2006) | It sounds like total lunacy! Maybe it was alright in the post-war years when there weren't too many cars on the road and people only did about 40 mph. | 2007-02-02 01:06 | |
| 1980 Ferrari Pinin Pininfarina Concept Cars (1990) | I once saw one of these (if not exactly like this then very similar) in the flesh at Goodwood Festival of Speed one year. I have a photo of it (not on my computer, though I could scan it). | 2007-02-02 00:54 | |
| 2002 Mercedes-Benz Atego The Holiday (2006) | Isn't it true that they used to have roads in parts of Belgium and France that had 3 lanes, with the middle lane as an overtaking lane that was used by cars going in BOTH directions? I remember reading about it in Bill Bryson's book Neither Here Nor There, "the driver would zip into the middle lane and seem geniunely astonished to find a 40-ton truck bearing down on us like something out of a Roadrunner cartoon." I wonder how Cameron Diaz would react to that if a road like this fazes her. | 2007-02-02 00:49 | |

You can look up UK license plates on these sites: http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/index.jsp http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/dvla_lookup/ I don't know about European registrations, the UK isn't completely part of Europe, yet. -- Last edit: 2007-02-02 00:44:39 |

| 1960 Pininfarina X Concept Cars (1990) |
Oh my God. It looks like the lovechild of a 60s Cadillac and one of those 3-wheel microcars (like the Mescherschmitt). It reminds me of when Clarkson said Giugiaro must have had an off-day when they did the Morris Ital, this must have been an off-day for Pininfarina. -- Last edit: 2007-02-02 00:51:27 |

| 2002 Mercedes-Benz Atego The Holiday (2006) |
Americans probably aren't used to our narrow country lanes and this is still a proper road rather than a real narrow country lane (the kind that have little laybys drivers go into so someone coming the other way can pass), imagine driving a Hummer down one of those... But an old Mini could go through that gap with no trouble whatsoever. -- Last edit: 2007-02-02 00:24:56 |

| The Holiday (2006) |
If I was watching this film on TV and it looked like this, I'd be fiddling with the brightness and contrast settings, it can't really be meant to look this, there's definetely something off about the contrast, though you probably know far more about that kind of thing than I do. -- Last edit: 2007-02-02 00:15:22 |

| 1969 Ford Mustang Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends (1998-2000) | I only posted it because it looked interesting, but now it's been revealed to be a slightly customized regular Mustang, is it worth keeping? | 2007-02-01 23:26 | |
| 1993 Jeep Cherokee Limited [XJ] When Louis Met... (2000-2002) | As I recall there were only a few trim levels available in Britain, including 2.5 litre Sport and 4.0 Litre Limited. So in Britain didn't "Limited" only come with the 4 Litre engine? My dad was once thinking of buying a Cherokee and I remember reading the brochures. | 2007-02-01 23:18 | |
