Didn't you read my comment? It's anywhere between a 1992-1994 model. I never said 1992 specifically. It can't be a 1991 because it doesn't have black pillars and the 1995-1996 models had minor exterior differences. Seriously, read comments before you post... 2009-01-28 06:58

Well, the Caprice is anywhere between a 1991-1994 model and is a 9C1. The car in the thumbnail is actually a Ford Crown Victoria. That one is anywhere in between the 1992-1994 range, which I could narrow down if I saw the front or rear end of the car. But either way, that one needs to be moved. 2009-01-26 19:50

Cops (1989-2015)
I don't see the logic in that veeble fetzer, they're the main cars in the show. What can happen is that they can be grouped together based on year range so that there won't be so many Crown Vic pages on the show. But I really don't see your logic given how prominent they are in the show. 2009-01-26 19:45

I've already told you numerous times...it depends on what year it is. I don't like listing Econoline because that was only used up to the 1998 model year on badging. Just having E-*50 is much more appropriate because its more generic.

And can't it even be an E-450 also?

Thunderheart (1992) Was it ever made specific when this movie was set? As GH said, it was based on events that occured in the 1970's. But this being a fictionalized version of that event, it could have taken place during any period of time. I think that's a common misconception about this movie; it's often times described as having been set in the 70's, when I don't think there was ever really a good clue in the movie alluding to this. It's been a while since I've seen this movie... 2009-01-23 23:43

2003 Ford Crown Victoria LWB [P70]
Gran Torino (2008)
APS221 wrote I think a problem for taxicab companies is that many police departments have switched from the CVPI to the Impala. As a result companies aren\'t going to be able to get tons of Crown Vics from govenment auctions. The Crown Vics purchased at auction won\'t be in service very long due to the age limits imposed by taxi/livery commissions. As a result, Ford fleet may end up getting more orders for the Crown Vic, and possibly for the LWB version.

If anything, the Chargers are more of a competition to the CVPI than the Impala. The Impala has been around since 2000 and has never significantly dented sales of CVPIs. Besides, the CV is still by far the most popular police car around. There's certainly no shortage of them so I don't necessarily think that's a problem. Besides, there are so many smaller taxi companies that operate without age limits. NYC itself is slowly introducing more energy-efficient models into their taxi fleet, which means that the number of CV taxis is slowly dwindling.

Yes indeed. Here too, most old Crown Victoria police cars end up as taxis (not Impalas, not Caprices, just CVs). But this is an interesting read because it is about TAXI-PACKAGE Crown Victorias ending up as...taxis...after their first service is over with :p sounds funny, doesnt it?

Gran Torino (2008)
I told you about that article a long time ago :p But anyhow, all I'm trying to say is that I don't know for sure if ALL LWBs go to NYC. Yes, the vast majority do, but for example, I once talked to a taxi cab driver here in LA who had an LWB and he said that his company had bought it new. I'm just saying, I wouldnt be surprised if we find out that a few hundred of those LWBs produced do go to other taxi companies.

And the spotlight also raises some eyebrows (but like I said, it could have been added by any taxi driver for who knows what reason). You can't assume based on just the pictures you see on the internet.

But hey, you may be right. And this may in fact be an old NYC taxi cab. My point is that there might be a slight possibility that it isn't, thats all ;)

But in the end, all that matters is that we can get this CV properly identified, which we did ;)

By the way, back to what Snookie said, here's an article that you and him should enjoy based on what he brought up:
