Those are definitely Avalanches:

Anyhow, for the 2000 model year it's easy as it was the only year that these Crown Victorias had both black trim on the bumpers and that the strip under the tailights/on the trunk was black. And there's no concrete way of telling whether it's a P71 or not.

Well that's exactly the problem and the reason why it went away ;)

History:
In the late 1960s, New Age philosopher Alan Watts suggested police cars be painted baby blue and white instead of black and white. This proposal was implemented in San Francisco by Chief Charles Gain in the late 1970s. Along with the new color scheme, Gain substituted the City's seal (which appeared on almost all other municipal vehicles owned by San Francisco), with "Police Services" for the department's traditional seven-pointed, blue star logo.

Of course, nobody liked this as it was a stupid idea to begin with.

Milk (2008)
That's because the door shield was also changed for that era. The lettering around the shield reads "POLICE SERVICES." This was all in a failed effort to make the department appear friendlier and less hostile.

If you notice though, the traditional SFPD star is on the trunk.

Probably a 1979 model as in 1980 the Newport police car was re-named Gran Fury. This one looks to be an old police car given the wheels. 2009-03-15 20:36

I was referring more to the 2000 model. All it needs is the grey bumpers. The black bodysides would have been correct for 2000. Besides, remember how I said "besides the most minute details." The numbers on the doors would be EXTREMELY minute :p

Certainly this one is worse:

Elegy (2008)
Oh I'm sorry. It was indeed labeled as an F-350. And I changed it to the generic "E-Series" because I believe that it could be an E-450 too as some ambulances are E-450's. But this probably is an E-350 so I'll change it back.

These actually aren't so bad. Besides the more minute details, the only major thing I see wrong is that they don't have grey bumpers.

But anyhow, the one in the main image and in the thumbnail on the second row is a 2001-2002 model. The one in the first two thumbnails and the last one is a 2000 model.

Into the Wild (2007) They can be misinterpreted at times, thats why I usually add smileys to avoid any confusion. Some people might think you're rude, but I personally don't. Although as I said before, the whole "Americans like big cars" discussion tends to come up with you at times :p

But I do believe smileys can be a useful tool on the internet...it's not the same as talking to someone in person.

1987-1991 SuperCab Dually model. Does this one come in XLT Lariat trim? The trims for the pre-1992 F-Series trucks confuse me a bit.

By the way, the thumbnail just shows the Suburban, not the F-350.

Ford LTD Crown Victoria Wagon. I'm not sure whether it's a Country Squire or not, but it looks to be a pre-1986 model as there is no third brake light. Given how the blue Ford oval is on the steering wheel this would make it at least a 1982. Unless there's something someone else knows that I don't. 2009-03-13 23:28
