| 1988 International 3800 Thomas Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei (1996-2013) | When I lived there as a child in the 1970's-80's(And the son of a US Army MSgt!)they DID use these type buses,(And especially like the other '75-ish Yellow IH Bus...'88 was after 'my time'?)Though they were painted different colors? US Army were Olive Green ("The Green Monster") US Air Force were mostly Dk Blue. ("The Blue Goose") (US Navy does have White buses,though?) 'Uncle Sam' started buying local(German built....but the 'Berlin Brigade' had done it years before,though?) made buses & cars about 1980 as well? I've seen ONE in the last 5 years!!(A 1967,and it didn't run? It "was" kept inside,though? Was being sold at a Swap Meet as a restoration project,it was in pretty good shape,all there,low miles too....just wouldn't run from sitting up 20+ yrs??) |

That's a '68 LTD all right? AND a Mobil service station in the right foreground,those pumps/awnings are unique to Mobil from the early 1970's on,still a few around with the awnings,but those beautiful round/oval stainless steel pumps are gone?  |

| 1980 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Stretched Limousine Fifth Gear (2002-2013) | Fleetwood 75 is a 'factory job',but this one's not? The "75's" of that era had the longer 1/4's like a Coupe de Ville,and longer rear doors (Modified Coupe de Ville doors??) as well as wider/longer C-Posts(you sit farther back in those when in rear seat)with an additional fixed landau/opera window.Also it's maybe 12-18 inches shorter than this one. In California,it's not uncommon to see a 30-40+ year old car(back to 1963) still with it's original plates,and still currently registered,from when it was new? Many owners of them see it as a thing to be proud of! (Especially the Black & Gold ones from 1963-69/70) |
