As Coleman Milne, probably the best known surviving hearse manufacturer of the UK, did a lot of advertising for their Saab hearses and limousines, it's rather unlikely that another coachbuilder would have made it's own one-off nowadays, instead of just buying one at CM and selling it to their customer. Sure, I know. It's just the same in many European countries and the vans have taken over, but there is still a whole lot of 'conventional' funeral coaches out there and still many coachbuilders making them. Especially you in the UK don't have to worry about that: The British full size hearses are not going to disappear that soon. They become less, but they'll stay. In France, it's different, as they have a tradition of several decades using funeral vans. On the other side: It's 2010 and the first commercially built Maserati Quattroporte hearse has just appeared... It's not completely over. |
