| The World at War (1974) | Who has archived the comments from this page, and for what reason? | 2008-05-27 22:41 | |
| GAZ AA The World at War (1974) | Most likely yes. It could be a special version, e.g. three axle, but AA is the probable answer. | 2008-05-27 22:35 | |
| Peugeot DK 5 J [D 5 A] The World at War (1974) | Most military light trucks of this kind had a high tarpaulin top and a raised roof. These were known as the Peugeot DK 5 J (D 5 A). I don't know if this flat roofed version has the same or a different name. | 2008-05-27 22:17 | |
| 1937 DEMAG Typ D 7 l. Zgkw. 1t, Sd.Kfz.10/4 with 2-cm-Flak 30 The World at War (1974) | It is the DEMAG Typ D 7 with 2-cm-Flak 30 (l. Zgkw. 1t - Sd.Kfz.10/4) built 1937-44 and by subcontractors Büssing-NAG, Saurer-Werke, Miag, MNH (Maschinenfabrik Niedersachsen-Hannover), Adler, and MWC (Mechanische Werke Cottbus) and after the invasion of France also by Peugeot, Renault, Lorraine, Panhard und Simca. | 2008-05-27 21:50 | |
| 1942 BMM Sd.Kfz.139 'Marder III' The World at War (1974) | It is the BMM Sd.Kfz.139 Panzerjäger 38 'Marder III' armed with the Russian 7.62 mm gun and based on the Czechoslovakian Praga TNHP-S tank chassis. | 2008-05-27 21:41 | |
| 1937 STZ 3 The World at War (1974) | It is an STZ-3 (1937-52), also produced by HTZ and ATZ. | 2008-05-27 21:26 | |
| 1933 ZiS 5 The World at War (1974) | This is a ZiS-5 (1933-48). | 2008-05-27 21:05 | |
| 1932 GAZ AA The World at War (1974) | Indeed, GAZ AA (1932-50, from 1943 on with flat wings and canvas roof). | 2008-05-27 20:59 | |
| 1933 GAZ 03-30 The World at War (1974) |
It is the GAZ-03-30 (1933-41, and 1945-50 with simplified wings), GAZ-AA based 17-seater bus. The red cross shows that it was either converted or, more likely, used for the seated transport. |

| 1938 YaAZ YaTB-4 The World at War (1974) | It is another YaTB-1 (ЯТБ-1) Moscow trolleybus introduced in 1936 like this one: /vehicle_164667-YaTB-1-1936.html | 2008-05-27 20:35 | |
| 1948 Land-Rover 80'' Series I Wakefield Express (1952) | Don't admit something you're not! You are certainly one of the excellent identifiers around here ... and for all of us this place is a wonderful place to learn an awful lot ... I certainly did and will keep on learning just by trying to correctly identify vehicles I haven't seen before. | 2008-05-26 00:19 | |
| 1958 Land-Rover 88'' Series II ex-Australian Army ¼ ton Command Reconnaissance Danny Deckchair (2003) | Yes, a Land-Rover 88" Series II, ex-Australian Army ¼ ton Command Reconnaissance version with modified wings, grille and a wider track or wide wheels. | 2008-05-25 22:15 | |
| 1948 Land-Rover 80'' Series I Wakefield Express (1952) |
A bit of mind-reading? No problem, Chris! ![]() The aftermarket cab on this one has a similar shape to the standard cab of the 107"/109". Also the white board with black writing behind the cab makes it look like the higher rear sideline of the 107"/109". But there are three reasons why it is an 80": 1st: You can see both wheels. The rear axle is to close for a LWB. 2nd: Note the triangle in the white bit of the door. This is a piece of canvas where you poke through your hand to open the door. The early LRs had no outside door-handle. 3rd: This film is from 1952, the 107" arrived in 1954! ![]() |

![]() Land-Rover 80" Series I for sure, but impossible to give an exact year. I'll choose the year of introduction. |

| 1959 Jaguar Mk.IX Mission: Impossible (1966-1973) | Only the rear lights on later Mk.IX and a different styled inscription on the boot lid. I think in other respects they are identical. | 2008-05-25 17:14 | |
| 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Wonder Woman (1976-1979) |
Being in the US the MG would be called 'Sports Sedan'. And I would agree on Fiat 850 Coupé: http://www.scuderiax19.de/X19Hamburg/850Coupe/850Coupe.htm |

| Isuzu KB Animal Park (2002-2013) |
In Germany (and possibly other European countries) is was sold as the Isuzu Campo before it was renamed into Opel Campo in 1992. In the UK it was branded as a Vauxhall Brava or a Bedford Brava, and obviously as an Isuzu, too. Not sure if it had a proper name or was just known as the Isuzu KB. |

... unless it is a VW Beetle ... ![]() The bonnet is actually the engine cover, while the boot is the storage compartment, which is accessible from the outside. The VW Typ 3 actually has two boots, one at the front and one at the rear, above the engine, and the bonnet is a lid inside the rear boot. |

| 1945 Bedford-Scammell OSS Wakefield Express (1952) | The military version has the name OXC, not OCX. Sorry about this typo. | 2008-05-23 22:12 | |
| 1940 Bedford-Scammell OXC Enigma (2001) | As mentioned here Vauxhall Motors used the name Bedford-Scammell. | 2008-05-23 22:08 | |
| 1945 Bedford-Scammell OSS Every Day Except Christmas (1957) |
A number of sources suggest that the production started in 1945. http://www.fleetdata.co.uk/bedfordchassis.html http://www.truckerlinks.dk/dansk/bedford.htm |

| 1945 Bedford-Scammell OSS Wakefield Express (1952) | Yes, Chris, the book is about the military version. I didn't want to start a confusion, but just refer to the usage of the name. | 2008-05-23 22:01 | |
| 1945 Bedford-Scammell OSS Wakefield Express (1952) | I found information that production of the 5 ton Bedford-Scammell OSS started in 1945. | 2008-05-23 21:59 | |
| Der Letzte Mann (1924) |
Wonderful, Michał! ![]() I almost bought this film when I saw it last in a shop ... now I am sure I will buy it! ... and I guess I have to find some books on 1920s German cars ... identification is a real challenge! |
2008-05-23 21:50 | |
| unknown Der Letzte Mann (1924) | Looks slightly different to the other bus, possibly a Benz chassis ... but this is no more than a shot in the dark! | 2008-05-23 21:45 | |
| 1921 N.A.G. KO 8 Der Letzte Mann (1924) | I only have very limited knowledge about these early Berlin buses. This one looks like an N.A.G. | 2008-05-23 21:44 | |
| 1945 Bedford-Scammell OSS Wakefield Express (1952) |
I have an old 'Bedford Maintenance Manual' covering the 4x2 models MW (15 cwt), OX (30 cwt) and OY (3 ton) as well as the 6 ton semi-trailer Bedford-Scammell OCX. If Vauxhall Motors uses this double name, we should do it likewise. |

| 1939 Austin K3 Every Day Except Christmas (1957) | Tricky, indeed. Even looking at old pictures does not help. It seems they all had identical cabs. | 2008-05-20 22:04 | |

| 1935 Albion 3½ Ton [KL127] Every Day Except Christmas (1957) | I would rather say it is a pre-war Albion, probably a KL127 like this one: http://ccmv.fotopic.net/p33830839.html | 2008-05-20 21:15 | |
| 1939 Austin K3 Every Day Except Christmas (1957) | I agree with Austin K-Type, not sure if K2, K3 or K4. | 2008-05-20 20:58 | |

| Les suspects (1957) |
Wonderful pictures, Jean-Marc! ![]() The two-engined plane is a Dassault MD-312 Flamant. Not so easy to identify as a few other planes had a fairly similar design (Beechcraft Model 18, Lockheed L-10 Electra, Fairchild AT-21, and even the SAI KZ IV (which would be by far too rare to be seen here)). |

| 1938 Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135S Lätta terrängfordon | It looks like a Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135S with a modified rear body. I have no further information about this modification. | 2008-05-19 13:13 | |
| 1938 Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135S Lätta terrängfordon | Another Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135S (1938). | 2008-05-19 13:06 | |
| 1938 Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135S Lätta terrängfordon | It is the Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135S (1938). To my knowledge only 18 were made. | 2008-05-19 13:03 | |
| 1936 Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135 Lätta terrängfordon | It is the Landsverk Artilleritraktor L-135 (1936). As far as I know only three were built. | 2008-05-19 12:59 | |
| 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML 430 'Papamobil' [W163] Im Auftrag des Vatikans (2006) |
That is not strange, as 'papa' is the Latin word for 'pope'. The film seems to play in Germany, therefore the car should not get the English nickname. |

| Clark Les suspects (1957) |
It is a Clark, but so far I don't know the model name. The plane is a Chance Vought F4U-7 Corsair and the aircraft carrier the CV Arromanches (Ex-Colossus) R-95. In the background the rear end of a Piasecki UH-25B (HUP-2) 'Retriever' tandem rotor helicopter is visible. -- Last edit: 2008-05-19 12:05:14 |

| 1939 Daimler-Benz DB 10 Sd.Kfz.8 s. Zgkw. 12t Eye of the Needle (1981) | It would be 'Krauss-Maffei', but the Sd.Kfz.8 was produced by the Daimler-Benz AG. This shows the final version DB 10 (1939-44) which was also produced by Krupp. | 2008-05-18 18:12 | |
| 1937 Krauss-Maffei KM m 11 Sd.Kfz.7 m.Zgkw. 8 to The World at War (1974) | The Sd.Kfz.8 was used for towing the 8,8 cm FLAK 18, but only in small numbers. This is the 8,8 cm FLAK 36 with the additional shield as mounted from 1940 on for ground fighting. The halftrack is correctly identified as the Krauss-Maffei KM m 11 Sd.Kfz.7, m.Zgkw. 8 to (1937-44) with the artillery body (by Jessen or Lindner). Also produced by Hansa-Lloyd-Goliath/Borgward (HL m 11), Saurer, Breda (Tipo 61), and a trial run of 20 by Henschel in 1942. Interesting to note is that Vauxhall made six prototypes named 'BT' which were exact copies of the Sd.Kfz.7. | 2008-05-18 18:03 | |
