| 1949 Packard Super De Luxe Eight [2332] The Lucy Show (1962-1968) |
Although a different model year, is this still labeled as "Custom Eight Victoria?" such as the Back to the Future [Doc's car] vehicle? /vehicle_3752-Packard-Custom-Eight-Victoria-2233-1948.html |

Model 51. I believe the Riviera name was used in this year to express the higher trim level before GM made hardtops more available in all five of its divisions. -- Last edit: 2009-07-29 10:19:47 |

Additionally, the "V" badge is on the grille center, not the stylized ship emblem that occupies the same space on the 1957 models. The "V" for 1957 was positioned on the front fender between the wheel opening and the bumper. Plaza or Savoy? -- Last edit: 2009-07-24 07:19:53 |

| Sound of Näverlur (1971) |
I see. It is easy for some Americans to think of Raggare as a way of "stealing" or "hijacking" cars that were once driven on US roads, as such cars are popular in many parts of Europe, but Sweden and Germany especially. If one takes the time to understand the roots of this European sub-culture, then it is not so difficult to conclude that these folks have a love for the same types of cars, and they have the same rights to own and care for them as Americans have done and continue to do. Wikipedia: "The word "Dalarna" means "the dales" (valleys). It is a popular vacation destination for Swedes from the south, who often travel there to relax during summer vacations, drawn by good fishing lakes, beautiful campgrounds, and deep forests." It is, and the 12,915 produced in this model year were divided into two series, the Fairlane 500 and the Galaxie. The clearest evidence that this is a Galaxie is the rear fender script whose first letter drops below the writing line, unlike the "F" in Fairlane. See photo links: Fairlane 500: http://www.dreamcarclassicsonline.com/autopics/0035-1716/L02.jpg Galaxie: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24227833@N00/2627059527 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner [51A] (same ccde as for Fairlane 500 Skyliner) Brilliant cinematography! -- Last edit: 2009-07-21 08:45:02 |

| 1959 Buick Electra [4739] Le parfum d'Yvonne (1994) | If this is indeed an Electra 225, then, judging by the interior of the roof and window surrounds, this is the hardtop sedan model 4839. Both the four-door sedans of this uppermost series were pillarless, and both had a total length of 225.4 inches. This is what is represented by the number "225." | 2009-07-21 07:59 | |

The first junkyard image shows a blue 1960 Buick Le Sabre or Invicta 2-door hardtop at left. At right in the same image is a 1960 Oldsmobile wagon. The wood-sided wagon at left is I believe a Ford product. Partially seen and seen in more detail in the second image is a brown Imperial of 1959. The blue car on the right with the horizontal molding has a grille like a Cadillac, but I am not sure. In the back row and seen better in the second image are a 1960 Dodge and to the right of this car is a 1959 Cadillac funeral car, for which I believe this image could serve a new page for the Cadillac. Now that I see that the funeral car is already listed and is a major part of the film, please disregard the above. No car here is very prominent, but maybe the Imperial since it would be likely the rarest in the two images. -- Last edit: 2009-07-12 09:47:51 |

| 1961 Lincoln Continental Jamie Foxx feat. Twista: DJ Play a Love Song (2006) | I have one of those wheelcovers for a late-sixties Lincoln. They certainly are massive with the center cap made of individual steel fins. Multiply that weight by four and it is easy to imagine how fuel economy can decrease. | 2009-07-11 08:18 | |

| 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88 Celebrity [3519] American Graffiti (1973) | I'd have to agree there, but I would like more of the side trim to be sure. There may be some things on the Super 88 that were not available as options on the Dynamic 88 series that I know little about. | 2009-06-17 07:10 | |
| 1958 Ford Custom 300 American Graffiti (1973) | Yes, the Custom 300 had an annodized aluminum insert, whereas the base model for the entire Ford corporation, the Custom, did not. | 2009-06-17 07:06 | |

Any Fairlane series Ford would have the wide Ford emblem on the center of the hood. What is clearly visible is the reflection of light off of the individual "F O R D" letters on the hood. Result: Custom or Custom 300. -- Last edit: 2009-06-17 06:45:25 |

| 1957 Cadillac Sedan DeVille [6239D] Tre uomini e una gamba (1997) | but the script above the front wheel opening clearly says "Sedan de Ville." What am I missing? | 2009-06-17 06:39 | |

| 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 La leggenda di Al, John e Jack (2002) |
The olds is shown more in its rear on another vehicle's page. Let me find it... It is a Dynamic 88 without a doubt. There are two additional views of this car. The first shows the name script and its placement, which is unique to the model or series name in 1959. Here they are: /vehicle_233314-Edsel-Corsair-1958.html /vehicle_233317-Buick-Roadmaster-1955.html The second shows the rear trim, which would rule out the Ninety-Eight for two reasons. (1) The OLDSMOBILE capitalized script is not spread out over the entire rear deck as on the Ninety-Eight series. (2) The length of the rear fender spear is nearly non-existent on the Dynamic 88 and longer on the Super 88 and the Ninety-Eight. Short field guide to 1959 Oldsmobiles: (1) Name script above trim line just behind headlights=Dynamic 88. (2)Name script below trim line just behind front wheel opening=Super 88. (3)Name script above rear side fender belt line trim=Ninety-Eight. Trunk letters also spaced differently on Ninety-Eights as noted above. There you have it, even if you can't read what it says, it's where it's placed that really counts! -- Last edit: 2009-06-14 10:56:42 |

| 1958 Edsel Corsair [57A] La leggenda di Al, John e Jack (2002) | [57A] One of only 5,880 produced. This one appears to be in a Copper Metallic/White combination (factory correct). | 2009-06-14 10:35 | |
| 1956 Buick Century La leggenda di Al, John e Jack (2002) |
It is a Century. It has 4 portholes with the body crease that has more in common with Oldsmobiles of the same era. The "big" Buicks, i.e. Super and Roadmaster series, featured a styling feature that is similar to the Cadillac Coupe de Ville and Series 62. 1956 Buick Century: http://1956buick.com/56Buick/factory/1956_photo_Century_mod66r.jpg 1956 Buick Super: http://1956buick.com/56Buick/factory/1956_photo_Super_mod56r.jpg 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88: http://www.faroutinc.com/56%20SUPER%2088.JPG 1956 Cadillac Coupe de Ville: http://i.pbase.com/v3/26/12626/1/50432759.RR0502loDSCN9514.jpg See what I mean now? |

I have the ep with the "scalloped" 1986 Buick Century. They did a rat-rod thing with white sidewalls and red painted steel rims, satin black finish, and red/white scallops. It is the two-door hardtop. The four-door would have a thicker C-pillar. | 1959 Pontiac Bonneville Custom Two Door Sport Coupe [2837] Hounddog (2007) |
From the seat pattern it is clearly a Bonneville (would also state as much inside the area of the grille I noted above). Judging by the roofline in the final thumbnail image, it is a two-door hardtop . -- Last edit: 2009-05-29 17:24:54 |

| 1959 Pontiac Bonneville Custom Two Door Sport Coupe [2837] Hounddog (2007) | Some of my GM 59 friends may be able to tell the series from the interior pattern. | 1956 Pontiac Hounddog (2007) | Ddey65, Pontiac did not place it's signature "streaks" atop the hood in 1957. Instead, there were 5 vertical bands on the middle member of the grille/bumper assembly. | 2009-05-29 07:26 | |

| 1958 Dodge Mayfair Suburban Seytan (1974) |
Yes, even correct to the name script ahead of the rear rise in the side trim. What a beautiful car whose illustration you found! I was not aware that the vent window was the same for 57 and 58 on export cars. I thought 58's had this style: http://www.tocmp.com/pix/Dodge/images/1958%20dodge%20ad-01_jpg.jpg I now believe that the wagons retained the windscreen of the 1957 model year. Comments? |
