thisguy ![]() | 1959 Ford Galaxie SKYLINER is correct. If you look at the character on the far left, directly behind his hip there is a set of lines in the car, this set of lines is the gas tank lid for the Skyliners ONLY. The Sunliners and non-convertibles had the gas tank lid above the back bumper in the center of the car. And.. (I am not entirely sure on this).. but I believe since this is a 1959 Galaxie Skyliner, that makes its full name out to be a 1959 Ford Galaxie Fairlane 500 Skyliner, as the Skyliner models only came fulled loaded. (don't quote me on that) |

| 1990 Lincoln Town Car Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
G-MANN ![]() | ![]() In "Back to Reality" the crew wake up after crashing Starbug to discover that they've been playing a Total Immersion Video game and have to come to grips with new, completely different identities. It turns out that Lister (Craig Charles) is a high-ranking government official in a fascist state and has a "limo" in long term parking, which turns out to be this Lincoln Town Car (can't quite tell for certain whether it's a regular sedan or a stretch limo). After killing a cop (Lenny Von Dohlen) they escape in the car and get into a car chase involving motorbikes armed with rocket launchers and a lifting bridge. However just before they get in the car it cuts to them back inside Starbug and it turns out they're hallucinating after being attacked by the despair squid, which is just as well because the budget wouldn't have allowed for a big car chase! -- Last edit: 2012-08-01 19:42:12 |

| Sinclair C5 Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
G-MANN ![]() | ![]() In a few episodes of Series I ("Future Echoes", "Balance of Power" and "Waiting for God") and "Kryten" in Series II, Lister rides this electric tricycle through the corridors of the ship. In the commentary the cast says that it was a modified Sinclair C5, I was doubtful of this but sure enough, it has the same frame: http://www.solarnavigator.net/inventors/inventor_images/sinclair_c5_frame.jpg http://www.celestialmechanics.co.uk/c5frame.jpg In this clip (presented by none another than Chris Barrie (Rimmer) himself!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNyerK5IFP0 halfway through you can see the frame which is exactly the same as Lister's trike has. This is a C5 with the body removed and the handle grips moved from below the seat to the top of these chopper-like handlebars. |

| Volvo 740 [744] Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
G-MANN ![]() | Since this scene is of pretty low-quality definition, it's just about impossible to read the plate of this Volvo. My best guess for the year letter is E (1987-88). 740 or 760? | 2010-02-06 01:47
| 1983 Triumph Acclaim [LC9] Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
G-MANN ![]() | All I can make out on the plate is JJT, and I think it may be an A-reg (1983-84), since it's a post-suffix letter system plate, it can be listed as 1983 by default. | 2010-02-06 01:38

Cycolac Fan ![]() | Purely a guess here but a guy called Rockin' Roy who was the DJ at Guildford cruise has (had?) two cars very similar to these in colour and trim. If they are his, and bearing in mind this episode was filmed in Farnborough about 20 miles from where he lived at the time, then you're looking at a 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner retractable hardtop and a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville coupe. |

| BMW 5 [E60] Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
G-MANN ![]() | Well, the picture quality is pretty impressive compared to the captures I've taken from older episodes (which still came from DVDs), but the main reason it isn't blurry is because it passes quite slowly. | 2009-06-16 21:35
| BMW 5 [E60] Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
carchasesfanatic ![]() | I don't have problem with this, the DVD quality makes it clear and not blurry, but anyway from your description what i thought is that you were refering to the fact that this was a random passing by car of which it's passengers were looking at the motley crew. | 2009-06-16 21:28
| BMW 5 [E60] Red Dwarf (1988-2013) |
G-MANN ![]() | Welll, I know I used to be really against this kind of thing but I think in this case they closed the street off and had this pass by to create the illusion of traffic. I reckon if they tried to film it without doing this there would be too many cars passing by and people getting in the way. | 2009-06-16 21:02
