130rapid  | Elegant buildings of gas station near Breslau intersection (today Bielany Wrocławskie) exists still. Photo from 30s and today. Google view here. AFAIK, the station is under local 'Guardianship of Relics' office control and exists despite modern safety rules, exceptionaly. Today nobody builds (or use even!) gas station located few meters from highway. |

ingo | Yes, the Audi was never so naked as the VW, and for some years not all extras, the Audi 50 had, were available for the Polo. The very first Audi 50 had some tiny body-details, which were unique, but except the different extras the cars were identical, produced on the same line by the same workers, only the VIN-number was different. ingo | Though it was a creation of the 20ies and seen on some architecture-photos back then, neon tubes weren't used in the late 30ies and in the 40ies in Germany. Imported materials were neccessary, plus the bad image of modern American style, any -most important- not "kriegswichtig". And not to forget, that during the war nearly all kind of lightings were forbidden. Not only headlights of vehicles had to be covered, the people had also to cover their windows at home with black cardboard. Plus it was forbidded to waste any energy. andrepa | possibly the logo T in circle was created before war, and furtherly developed into illuminated sign, but bended neon tubes where used since early 20ies. here you´ll find the first Reichsautobahn Tankstelle and the T in circle allready on Top http://www.geschichtsspuren.de/artikel/34-verkehr/138-tankstellengeschichte.html it was alight blue sign with white neon tube in the middle -- Last edit: 2012-06-16 00:06:49 |
