outlaw USToo bad that logo says Wrangler, and Wranglers didn't come out until 87, and weren't called CJ's. They were YJ's. That one in particular was built by Mild to Wild 4x4 Customs out of Atlanta Georgia. It was featured in several background shots on Discovery Channel's Ultimate Car Build Off. 2011-02-12 08:36

car nerd wrote Buc84, if that's the case then this is simply a "Fury" rather than "Gran Fury"...right?

That's right, in 1974, the top line models were called Fury Gran Sedan and Fury Gran Coupe but there were still no Gran Fury... In 1975, all the full size models were called Gran Fury (as the name "Fury" was attributed to the mid size model which was previously named Satellite)
I can't tell which year this one is however!

About the Fury Gran Coupe and Fury Gran Sedan, they were available since the early seventies. The Gran Coupe was available first in 1970 as a hardtop coupe. In 1971, the Gran Coupe was available as a hardtop coupe and a hardtop sedan (Yes, the 4 door model was called "Gran Coupe" too!) In 1972, the 4 door model was renamed "Gran Sedan" (it makes more sense!) The last year for these was 1974 as the Gran Fury arrived in 1975.

See this site for information on the 1970-73 models:

Buc84 USCan't see the trim (or lack of it?)to really tell what this one started life as...but I'd guess a I or II? Gran Fury came about in 1972,"Top Line" car, competitor to Caprice/LTD,and also replaced the Sport Fury & the 1966-69 VIP as top dog in the Fury lineup. 2007-06-02 05:33

CJ-7's don't have that logo on the bed. But CJ-8 Scrambler's do.
