vilero a écrit 1978+ Quadrifoglio wheel rim and big and square head lights = 131 Supermirafiori Familiar

It isn´t correct, any car was called "Supermirafiori familiar"; Supermirafiori station wagon version, at this time between 1.978-81 (second generation), was officially called "Seat 131 CL Familiar" (and basic version "Seat 131 L Familiar"). It was avalaible with the 1.438 c.c.(4 speed), 1.592 c.c. twin cam (5 speed), and 1.760 c.c. Diesel Perkins (with 4 or 5 speed gear box) engines.

1980 Citroën CX 2500 D Palas
Colegas (1982)
rpcm PTActually I took as reference the launch of the 2200 D Pallas in February 1977. Nevertheless, I found a Spanish "Autopista" magazine from June 23rd, 1979 that doesn't list any diesel version of the CX in its price-list of the cars available in Spain at the time ( only the 2400 Palas ). Further research seems to show that the only version made in Vigo was the petrol-engined 2400 Palas, a car introduced by Citroën Hispania at the end of October 1976 in Arcos de la Frontera and elected 1977 Spanish Car of the Year. Nevertheless, as an answer to the "Plan Sahagún" ( 1978? ) that taxed violently ( 35% ) cars of more than 1920cc, in January 1980 Citroën Hispania started to import several models and, among them, the CX 2500 D. So - and by the date of the film - it makes sense that this is one of them. 2007-11-06 23:27

rpcm a écrit Being a taxi, it's most probably a Diesel version. The chrome wheelcovers and sills and the general trim make me think it could be a Palas. So, I would say it's probably a 1977+ 2200 D Palas.

si el CX fue lanzado oficialmente en España en noviembre de 1976, cuando fue cuando se fabricaron los primeros con motor diesel?

Ingo DE@weasel: the VW Type 1 is not a good example for that, because the South American made ones, especially the Brazilian (at least all Type 1 Sedan after 1977 were made in Mexico and Brazil) have too many differences to the older European onem that they're nearly a different car. And except a very few privete imported ones, the Type 1 was not availiable in Europe after 1985.

Surely, for cars, where the differences aren't so obviously (Polish oder German VW T4 and T5, German,Slovakian,Belgian, Spanish VW Polo's, German,British,Belgian,Polish,Spanish Opel/Vauxhalls and so on...) this kind of discussion only shows, how the forum-members are coming it strong with their knowledge about cars. This is nerdic, surely - but informative anyways.

Weasel1984 a écrit I'm not a big fan of this today's 'origin system' (I wrote many times about it), though I'm not sure if we should change it now, untill we won't have something really better. Sometimes it is nearly impossible to say where exactly the car was made (example, how we can tell which VW T5 was made in Germany and which one is from Poland etc. etc.) - what we would do in such cases? I understand that this new field 'made in' would be used only sometimes and not for every car? That's also not good.

I think what we should definitely change now is this that we are inconsistent. This Renault has French origin and 'made for E' - ok, but why this VW typ 1 /vehicle.php?id=131635 has Mexican origin? Because the shape of window is different?
On the other hand we have old Seats, Zastavas etc. which has Spanish, Yugoslavian origin (and it is very good), but most of the old NSUs (clones of Fiats) have Italian flags, there is more of such examples ('BMC' Innocentis...).

I have been debating this. Check my idea at Link to "forum.imcdb.org"
