antp ![]() | As I said, as I said, the only reason of that "made for" field is to explain to the visitor why that name is chosen, or why the car looks strange/different. It was used like that since the beginning. Else we can put "made for" field for all cars if we follow the rule that you suggested, as in all countries there are specific things (e.g. all cars sold in Belgium have an added system to fix the fire extinguisher near passenger seat) -- Last edit: 2007-11-26 17:00:16 |

carchasesfanatic ![]() | Yes but if that GS has different exterior stuff it should carry the made for, we are not adding it just because we dont see them? if its in that country and the car is 100% for sure that it has different things you are not adding made for because you dont see them in the pic? | 2007-11-26 14:34
| 1971 Citroën GS Série 1 A Game for Vultures (1979) |
antp ![]() | No, actually I meant visible in the movie. Indeed the problem is "is it visible or not in the movie, based on this pic?" Then maybe we could consider that it could even be for visible things on the pic - or in the movie if a comment precises it. The Alliance is different: as the name is different, even if there is no visible detail the "made for" explains why we call it Alliance rather than 9. As I said, the only reason of that "made for" field is to explain to the visitor why that name is chosen, or why the car looks strange/different. -- Last edit: 2007-11-26 14:16:52 |

carchasesfanatic ![]() | No, not on the concerning picture as you say, but Antoine means visible in the car, it doesnt matter if in this photo we dont see them, but we would know the car has those differences, Antoine is not saying, oh well we have here an Alliance, we know it has exterior differences but since they are not visible here will just leave it as french origin(though the name would be a reason too), so if this car has any exterior differences say it, if not then its ok as it is ![]() So to sum up cause i probably havent explained myself very well, if the car has exterior differences only for that country if has to carry the made for ok? doesnt matter if we see them or not in the photo, if the car has them it has them, that's it |

DIEHARD ![]() | I see, but how is 'visible' defined? What is not visible on this photo can be visible on another picture... Do you mean by visible 'optical differences in the exteriour of the car'? Must they be visible on the concerning picture? -- Last edit: 2007-11-26 08:54:23 |

DynaMike ![]() | "made for" is for visible details (or names) indeed. Different from the place it's been built, I'd say. E.g. when this ZA-built GS would be exported to Karakiristan and they would have to put different bumpers or lights to meet the Karakiristanian law this would result in: origin France, built in South Africa, made for Karakiristan. | 2007-11-25 20:01

DIEHARD ![]() | It is technically different from the European ones, it has other features like airco, extra engine protection and some other stuff...that is however not visible on this photo. However if someone with detailed knowledge of the GS would see two versions, they would be able to tell them apart... What do you want me to do, remove the made for or not? | 2007-11-25 16:06
