ingo wrote Why were hazard-lamps and lamp-flashers illegal in Italy in the late 60ies and early 70ies? :??: They were disconnected at all import cars and some Italian cars even hadn't included the cables and relais for it.

And annother tiny question: What was the reason of the Austrian law in that years, that the light for the back license plate had to flash, when you have used the lamp-flashers?

I don't know and I think it is a really good question

Perhaps we can ask our Italian and Austrian friend to answer our question :)

ingo DELast Sunday I saw such a 240 D 3.0 on a local oldtimer-meeting. I wasn't striked by the car itself, more by the white 1968/69 steering-wheels, which the owner has cobbled on the 1974+ steering column. I thought, the pre- and post-1974 columns were too different, so that this shouldn't be possible. 2010-08-20 21:42

La cage aux folles (1978)
medimanic GRCorrection! I saw what you're talking about..there's only one stripe in the center of the bumper, and yes X and X2 models had both inox bumpers and were together in the range for a long time (1975-1978).Only 1978 X2s had black bumpers (and foglights underneath) and next year 1979 took away the X2 (replaced by the X3) while X continued on! So that car might be anything (X or X2) 1975-77 and only the script on their back could distinguish them. 2009-01-17 09:11
1975 Citroën GS X2 Série 1
La cage aux folles (1978)
medimanic GRIt's because the car is not clearly brand new, so one stripe has been lost in a small parking shock (I don't remember Citroen providing one side protection for economy reasons), and the first series of X2 was named simply X so we agree.. 2009-01-14 10:26

mister car from 971 wrote How could you make a difference between the 1977-1984 Fleetwoods and Sedan DeVilles? Ah! Now I understand: the Sedan and Coupe DeVille of this era are a little bit shorter than the Fleetwood and Fleetwood Brougham!

Actually they are on the same wheelbase. 1976 was the last year that the Fleetwood got an exclusive wheelbase. The '77-84+ Fleetwood looks larger than the Deville because of design details. A longer Fleetwood 60 Special was introduced in 1987 for the FWD Fleetwood but only had an exclusive WB for two years.
