PantherAusfG44 IDI have no idea to what the M47 is doing in this film. It wouldn't portray a Pershing tank, because it first fought in 1945, not 1944 (the setting of this film).

Gearhead USThis tank is meant to act as a Tiger 1 tank or Panzer 4 tank. Which according to the book "A Bridge Too Far" which the movie is based on, the tanks that attacked Colonel John Forst Battilon at Arnhem later on in the battle were Panzer 4 and Tiger 1 tanks. Though i will admit they did try to make this tank look like a Panzer 5 "Panther." 2011-03-19 03:42

Gearhead USThat is not a tank garco, it is actually a self-proppled gun. Which is diffrent then a tank, the self-proppeled gun is like a self-proppled artillery piece. This one is supposed to be a German Wespe. This the famed battlescene between british 1st Airborne's 2nd batillion and the 9th SS Panzer's Reconicnse battilon. 2011-03-19 03:38

A Bridge Too Far (1977)
Pibwl PLThis isn't Ford M4A3 (Ford produced only early A3 with dry stowage), but most probably Chrysler M4A3 with 76 mm gun and wet stowage (Chrysler built 8 times more of this variant, than Fisher). Details of gun and turret aren't well visible, but it's not Ford anyway.

A Bridge Too Far (1977)
Murf32 CAK, let's everyone agree - at least this movie used actual German armour. Yes, it is a little too modern for the period, and, not overly convincing in it's disguise as a WW2 AFV, but, it's alot better to see a Leopard than seeing an American AFV with balkan crosses and German paint schemes. 2009-03-08 05:43

I agree that the first one there is a 251 halftrack. Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251.

The vehicles in the second pic, are two of the faux Panthers, the 251 halftrack and the DB-10 halftrack; all are seen later in the film i.e., the 251 is the same one Grabner rides in, because those are the Panzer Corps they keep ominously mentioning. They're seen first there, at rest, then in action during the Arnhem battle later when the Germans try to cross.

The vehicles in the third pic are (I think), left to right, the made-for-movie armored car that Grabner's 251 rams out of its way, one of the Kubelwagons, and then another armored car replica. The Kubel is attempting to flee back the way they came (well, the driver is anyway), and it gets caught between the disabled armored car and the oncoming one and smushed, the poor thing.

So, all of those are already listed except Grabner's 251, which I'd give 3 stars.

grabners halftrack is the shorter demag halftrack..i have listed it in the german section at top of page..it isnt a 251 Hanomag...the same halftrack appears in the "under the trees" shot at top of this page, along with some leopards faked up as Panthers ..and Charlie manns SdKfz7 Hanomag half track...not a DB 10.

Kooshmeister USAlso, although most of the other armored cars on the bridge look more or less the same as the one already listed, at least one has six wheels instead of four:

This is the one that crushes the Kubel between itself and the other armored car; it apparently gets free only to crash later because when the "Panther" appears later and rams it out of the way (as seen in the picture), it's moved further down the bridge.

There was another vehicle in this scene where the commander of the first platoon trying to cross the bridge is seen burning in the flames. Same construcion als this but faguely resembling a 251
