AudioMobil ![]() | I think I've seen Belvedere sport tone trim on that car in a different scene? It was all painted but still it was there... |

Skid ![]() | I think you're thinking of the Danbury Mint...I know they claim to do the "first and only licensed replica" of the California Kid, and their version matches the below picture: ![]() Like many famous custom hot rods, I believe the car has undergone near constant revision, maintaining only the deep blue paint (yes, it's blue) and flame job. |

njcrottie ![]() | There is a Franklin Mint edition of this car in 1:24 scale. It appears they have the wrong wheels and exhaust on the model. My question is has this car been changed or is the Franklin Mint car wrong? | 2007-08-14 02:24
| 1955 Mercury Montclair The California Kid (1974) |
50scars ![]() | This is a Montclair. Not only does it have the color divide under the windows, which was an aftermarket available part, but it has the roof line that was exclusive to Montclair, and Crown Victoria in 55, and all Ford and Mercury hardtops in 56 except the Ford 4 door hardtop, which still used the high roof. | 2007-05-02 02:45

| 1962 Checker Marathon [A12] The California Kid (1974) |
checkertaxistand ![]() | Actually, this would more likely have been a Marathon (A12) from 1962 to 1967. Even though Superbas existed during the time period of the movie's story, a Superba was much less likely to be found in 1974. Also, Marathons were always civilian cars (as were Superbas), not taxicabs. | 2006-11-26 20:57

| 1953 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special The California Kid (1974) |
mrcadillac ![]() | Bomjour la Suisse. I was given that nickname back in 1972 by the members of the "Club Genevois des Collectionneurs d'Autos Miniatures" (Henri Zwicky, Armand Montandon, etc.) Do you know them? They thought it was very funny that I should own two real Cadillacs at the time (1960 Eldo Seville and 1964 Sedan de Ville) when I could only afford three shirts, two pairs of shoes and not much else. Hey! A man needs to get his priorities right ! | 2006-03-31 17:17

| 1951 Mercury Custom The California Kid (1974) |
