Ingo | Haah, annother great license-plate! Thanks from a collector! In Germany "Knudsen" is the nickname for this Ford, because it's nose was designed personally by the former Ford-Boss -his name was Knudsen- of that time. We also say "Adenauer"-Benz to the Mercedes 300-Limousine of the 50ies, because our first chancellor had that one in use. "Knudsen", "Adenauer" are well known nicknames like "Pagode" (Mercedes W 113) or "Nasenbär" (coato-mundi) for a VW 411 or "Schneewittchensarg" ("Snow White's coffin") for a Volvo 1800 ES -- Last edit: 2007-07-27 21:36:18 |

Ingo | At first: Thanks for showing "my" car, Ralph! Between 1995 and 1997 I drove around in exactly such an NSU 1200, same colur, same interior - 58 000 km in 18 months. It was a great time for me. This is a NSU 1200. See the black NSU-Logo on the front. The Typ 110 had a blue one. And the colour "Iberischrot" is from Volkswagen and not from NSU any more, so this NSU was made after 1969 has a plate with "Audi NSU Auto Union" on the front, not any more "NSU Motorenwerke Aktiengesellschaft". A a very nice license-plate! NIB stands for "Niebüll", in use until 1970. Nowadays one of the rarest plates for collectors, even unvalid ones are very hard to find. So if the plate is not a fake, this NSU 1200 is a 1970-model. The only possible year for the combination "Iberischrot" with a NIB-license-plate. -- Last edit: 2007-07-27 20:49:05 |
