cortina.chris EN I agree with Ford Anglia 100e but the model year should probably be changed to '56 as the style of rear lamps with small round reflector seen on this car were introduced in oct '55 and continued to oct'57 . 2012-01-22 17:57

sixcyl FRIf I'm not wrong there was no 1600 in the model name of the Vitesse. Only the Herald 1200 was named with the cylindered rate, and the later Vitesse 2-Litre.
By the way, too, the real commercialization of the Vitesse started since the London Motor Show, which make it genuine first YM a 1963

1947 Proctor 5/6-ton Diesel
Father Came Too! (1963)
Sunbar UKThe credit must go to Alexander... :)

I discounted Proctor in the first place because I didn't think it looked right. :(

Another new make as well for IMCDb.

A very rare truck, even back in the 1960s.

Sunbar UKLets say its between a J2 to J4 then because as you say it looks like a light removals van with twin rear wheels (not 1 or 1.5 ton).

I cannot really make out any moulding with the dappled light...you must have excellent eyesight chris40  ;)

Sunbar UKAlexander I agree Proctor as here.... (95% certain - for the details seen) :)

Link? to the photo / source is http://www.chrishodgephotos.co.uk/funpics/pageww/pageww.htm

The cab door looks right. The hinge position and side-lamp. The only thing that concerns me is the small seam at the lower-front of the mud-guard but that could be a slight variation in cabs I guess.

The missing bumper is no problem as I think, as trucks were not always fitted with these. - edit looking at another thumbnail of the Leyland Cub I think the bumper is just visible and it confirms (100%) the three-bladed design on the Proctor.

1958 Bedford J2
Father Came Too! (1963)
Sunbar UKGiven the little detail seen....

Although it could also be a 1953-57 Bedford A-Series, I agree most probably a 1958 Bedford J5 because the style of the sign-writing on the body appears to be new for the time of filming.

greybear wrote I agree chris40, but I have a feeling that the 100e Anglia was renamed 'New Popular' in its last couple of years of production, presumably in order to seperate it from the 105e.

All true, greybear. But it had the same grille and larger rear window as the later 100E Anglias:

http://www.ncvc.org.uk/images/vehicles/MCC1%20_100E.JPG

... and the 'Popular' badge was on the boot-lid, not above the number-plate. This is a lightly 'customised' 1954-6 Anglia: to me, the rear window is conclusive.

chris40 UKStronghold, I have a problem with this one ... I know it says Popular and has the later tail-lights, but it has the grille and, more significantly, the smaller rear window of the earlier (1954-6) Anglia. :/ 2007-09-26 09:21
