I'm happy to agree with your list of names/marks. I did not know about Mk1 Zephyr having Six epithet until recently, but this was demonstrated on various entries so seems solid.

Pillow Talk (1959)
zodiac SE@lateef: I'm sorry. I didn't want to upset anyone, just to make this right.
I don't know how to get believed, and I've tried several times without getting any result.

Still; I'm trying once more:
- The 1951 until early 1956 models were called "Ford Consul", "Ford Zephyr Six" and "Ford Zephyr Zodiac" http://www.philseed.com/fordzephyr51.html . Collectively they were called "The Five Star Cars".
- The 1956 until early 1962 models were called "Ford Consul", "Ford Zephyr" and "Ford Zodiac" http://dakotaboo-vintage-books-magazines.blogspot.se/2010/10/vintage-motor-sport-magazine-c1959.html . Collectively they were called "The Three Graces".
- The 1962 until january 1966 big UK models were called "Ford Zephyr 4", "Ford Zephyr 6" and "Ford Zodiac".

To make it easier when referring to the respective models I don't mind calling them Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3, but they were never called that by Ford themselves.
I'm just trying to be correct.

I know all this because I own a 1955 Ford Consul (project, but complete), a 1957 Ford Zodiac (rather a lot to do, but a dream car when finished. Hence my nickname.) and a 1960 Ford Zephyr (MOT'd, but not entirely original), and I have to know this when hunting for spare parts. Not easy.

zodiac SEHow do you know this is a Zephyr and not a Consul? Because the picture is that blurry I've difficulty to see if this has a wider gap between the front wheel arches and the front door, and I can't see the chromed boot handle.

And it was never ever called Zephyr 6 when Mk1 and Mk2. IT WAS CALLED "ZEPHYR SIX"!!!!! (And the Mk2 just "Zephyr".)

Appologize for writing in capital letters and using exclamation marks, but I've tried to point this out several times here on Imcdb.

andre1969 wrote I think that car is a Firedome. The Firesweep's wheelbase was four inches shorter, and they took that all out just ahead of the firewall, which made the front fenders shorter. The Firedome and Fireflite had their names on the front fenders, but I don't think the Firesweep's front fenders were long enough to put that script there.

It's a Firedome with he simple side trim, rarely seen.
Usely on the factory pictures, th Firedome has elaborated optional side trim.

Pillow Talk (1959)
58roadmaster USThe same book says that this car in top condition would be worth 38,000 US dollars. However, it also prices the Adventurer 2dr convertible as 55,000, before two of them each sold for well over 200,000 US dollars recently at auction. My guess for this car is 2-3 times the price listed.

1954 Pontiac Chieftain De Luxe Catalina Coupe
Pillow Talk (1959)
58roadmaster USAnother side pic please? If you can count the streaks when the vehicle is in motion, the Chieftans had 4 streaks on the hood, while Starchiefs had 5. This is a two-door car, note the way the chrome dips immediately behind the side door. On four door cars there is a little more travel at the start of the rear door before the sweep spear loses altitude. If there is a center streak on the hood of this car it is a Starchief riding on a 124 inch wheelbase. The hardtop model is the Catalina or Custom Catalina. If there are just steaks on either side of the center line of the hood, then it will have 4 streaks and will be identified as a Chieftain with a 122 inch wheelbase.
So in short, we need: 1)streak count or placement on hood 2)presence or lack of center post in roofline 3)any kind of chrome detail on side of tail fins. I imagine that this car is only shown in this frame between cuts to the actors speaking their lines. :(
