I think the approach for using 40/50 hp 'Silver Ghost' is useful because that is common usage - look how many people comment Silver Ghost when a regular 40/50 crops up - and we have the correct way of separating out AX201 as THE Silver Ghost. This split is (or should be) workable for a reasonably alert but non-specialist audience - maybe it can be improved but I'd be wary of causing a less clear outcome. I would be interested however in a way of bringing out Springfield versions within the designation if it could be done cleanly.	2012-08-05 22:50

This car has been given a unique designation - as you have written it - but it is just another Springfield Ghost. Looking at the Rolls-Royce list I see that most are desginated 40/50 hp 'Silver Ghost', and for some reason AX201 has been designated 40/50hp Silver Ghost, without speech marks. Ideally as AX201 is actually named Silver Ghost it should be in italics, but I don't think that is available so I think that the regular 40/50s should have no speech marks and AX201 should be written with speech marks. That is as near as we could get to correct English usage. Perhaps some way of separating the Springfield Ghosts from the UK ones could be found. Am I correct in saying that the Springfield Ghosts are usually identifiable by their headlights? (Bauch and Lombs?)	2012-08-05 21:50
