Weasel1984 PLIt is the SWB model, so 710, "AMB-Y" body (if original ambulance, if not then "K") = "710 AMB-Y". 1971-84 version.

The linked site (van.at) is unfortunately not very exact, as it describes the pics of the 710 K as "712 M". Also the 2nd gen. vehicle (in the 2nd link) is a later one - 1993+ version, in 1985 it had different grille.

Zastava seems had built only gasoline-fueled AR 51s,unlike Italians that had the same also in Diesel(civilian) version;the Yugoslav-made Campagnola was called AR 51 but if isn't started in production in 1951(for Yugoslav people name indicates year of 1st 1951 Italian version from which was patterned that built by Zastava);in fact when in Italy Fiat was arrived at 1959 AR 59 series of military Campagnola, that in Yugoslavia was still named AR 51(out of production in Italy since 1955),without evolve into correspondent Italian models, remaining mechanically unchanged until production end(on a book had seen a rare civilian Zastava AR 51,styled as a 5-doors metal roof wagon, with twin-splitted wraparound windshield and six-light body, that don't match with none Italian Campagnolas)

If YU-played movie, undoubtely 1955 Zastava AR 51(I say 1955 'cause local made version was started some years later the Italian counterpart, being that early Zastava-badged vehicles dates back 1953 and based all on one kind of running gears, that of Fiat 1400--Zastava Z 1400 BJ,1395cc.--Fiat Campagnola/AR 51--Zastava AR 51,1901cc.,derivated by 1395cc.unit,raising cylinder capacity--and Fiat 615 truck--Zastava Z 615,with same engine of Zastava AR 51)

The model shown must be a 1978 Zastava Z 750 S(=standard),recognizable for the black circle placed on front nose
crossed with a ZASTAVA silver writing inside(meanwhile of chrome fake grille-logo compo of correspondent Italian 1965-1969 Fiat 600 D,of which use the same coque,including front-hinged doors,and 767 cc.,4-cyl.,water-cooled rear engine,an evolution of previous 633cc.--got raising cylinders bore--fitted on previous 1955 Zastava Z 600,that with "suicide-doors").Couldn't be a Z 750 L(=Luxe),'cause lacks rubber-covered overriders on bumpers.

Early exports of that car began in 1968(was the 1st Zastava to be exported);last Eighties'ones were fitted also with 848 cc.engine;in that configuration, the car was named Z 850 and built, together at Z 750,until 1986(last versions shown inside the same steering wheel fitted by FSM 126p/650--Polish-made version of 1977 ex-Fiat 126/650);the Zastava Z 750 was locally used also in touring car's national single-marque championships. At home was popularly nicknamed as "Ficio","Fitjo"or "Fica",all terms traducibles as"little Fiat",approximatively.

PS Not stated of certitude, but seems that this car was been assembled for a while even in Turkey( believe I had read something on that on the Autosoviet website).

PS2 Thru a my German friend(fan of East-Europe-made Fiats)had discovered that into '60s was built a Fiat 600 D even in Bulgaria;maybe(but is only a my hypotesis)could be a Zastava Z 750 coque-based,exported CKD down there???.......

That's the problem with these cars, they sometimes have both Zastava and Yugo labels :D
e.g. ftp://ftp2.antp.be/antp/perso/Kosovo/DSCF0076.JPG
the car had a Yugo label on the front wing and a Zastava elsewhere.

Pre-'80s ones are Zastava 101 at home,post-'80s are Zastava Yugo 101,while in early '90s becomes Yugo Zastava 101 55 and 65

PS Early Zastava 101 shown on roof C-pillar a "Z"letter(that position copied by contemporary Datsun 240 Z similar roof pillars logo???)inserted in a black background circle;then,in late Eighties, they switched at stilized"Y"logo(for many years Yugo--former spelled Jugo--was the name of another car,at home--those launched at 1980 Beograd M.S.as prototype, but put in production the next year, that resembles a Peugeot 104 Z coupe'--while in other export markets was the Brand that replaces that, originary,of Zastava(got also into Firm's name, switched by former ZCZ=Zavodi Crvena Zastava=Red Flag's Factory--to late Eighties'ZYA=Zastava Yugo Automobili--acronym)maybe for reasons of no-easy pronounce abroad.

PS2 The car have a M-initial(M=Milicija,Police in Serbian idiom)on plates

PS3 For antp:in your Country,early 101 imported into'70s were labelled as Zastava 1100(I've seen a one so-named in my town,coming just by Belgium,in 1977 Summer)

Lanner:

- warum wohl :)
