Animatronixx DEStrange landau area freaks me out! Maybe this is Krystal Koach or Federal, but I can't tell for sure. :/

Edit: OK, really seems to be a Federal Coach, but I can't assure the model name...

baxo CAThat is a 1988 Cougar XR-7.. You can tell it's an XR-7 due to the turbine wheels. Even the wheels would be a giveaway that it's not a 1989 because the 89 cougars were 5 lug whereas the fox body cougars were 5 lug wheels and those style wheels did not come in 5 lug versions.

tonkatracker USin North Carolina is is the same way as Florida with the temporary tag but I know when I lived in bought a van in Georgia i left the dealership tag on the van and had a temp registration that i had to tape to the rear window until the metal plate came in. I have seen this with dealerships from a lot of different states (mostly from the north) as I live in a resort area and see alot of out-of-state cars. 2006-09-18 00:06

Mr. Deeds (2002)
Firebird86 USThats not acceptable/legal in many states, I know in Florida, we issue a paper temporary tag that has the dealer name and registration number, vehicle "Id" number, and date of sale. Normally these tags are only good for 30-40 days. If there are no issues with a trade-in title, then tag work takes about 1 week, when its replaced with a state issued metal tag. 2006-09-18 00:01

G-MANN UKSo the how the hell can that car be indentified by police if it's driving around with fake plates on? That's unbelievable! In the UK you'd get done if you drove around without a numberplate on each end of the car, but in America you don't even seem to need a plate on the front bumper. 2006-09-17 23:54

actually in a lot of states when you buy a new car from the dealership you can drive with the dealerships tag on it until your perminant tags come in (ususally 30 days)

1998 Volkswagen New Beetle [Typ 9C]
Mr. Deeds (2002)
G-MANN UKI'd like to go with New Beetle, if you look closely you can see the aerial at the back (it's easier to see when you watch it), the colour is a New Beetle colour, and if you look at the way they are sitting, it's obviously a curved bonnet, not a flat one. 2006-07-30 13:04

1988 Mercury Cougar XR-7
Mr. Deeds (2002)
qwerty_86 USI agree it's an '88. Look at the position of the Cougar logo on the grille. On the '89, it's closer to the middle of the headlights while on the '89, the top of the logo is close to the top of the headlights. 2006-07-30 03:15
1988 Mercury Cougar XR-7
Mr. Deeds (2002)
Hecubus CANotice how the headlights are divided though. On the '89, the main light is much wider than on this car, and only divided into three sections (whereas this has four discernible sections).

As for the grille, I see what you're talking about, but I suspect it's just a trick of the lighting.

1988 Mercury Cougar XR-7
Mr. Deeds (2002)
Hecubus CAOlder than '89. This is a Fox-body Cougar, not an MN12. Based on the wheels, I believe this is an '88 Cougar XR7: http://www.coolcats.net/fox/1988.html 2006-07-29 21:57
1987 Ford F-150
