nubby ![]() | The picture is a 1970 Chevrolet G-10! (the door handles & fenders should be a clue), not a Bedford! OK,they do use a Bedford on a couple of shots on the movie, but that doesn't make it a Bedford. And,70'-96'Chevy Vans do have round fenders. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/18/Wiki_cars_346.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-07-28 08:15:43 |

Bart_Decaux ![]() | That's either a 1933 or 1934 Ford 5-window coupe. There's very little to distinguish between the two years but the grille on this one appears to identify it as a 1934 model since the 1933 grille has a slightly curved profile, though it is basically the same overall shape. | 2007-07-14 19:54

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
Sunbar ![]() | valiant1962, although the van is similar to a Mk.I Transit it cannot be based on this vehicle - even if it were heavily modified. The roof on the 'Scooby Doo' van has a separate one-piece roof pressed panel with a seam over the windshield. The Transit is without this seam and it is combined with the windshield surround. Anyone modifying or customising the van is unlikely to actually add a weld seam in this position. The Chevy and Bedford vans however do have this seam at the front of the roof. |

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
valiant1962 ![]() | Just to confuse you all more, I think it is a Ford Transit modified to look like a Chevy or Bedford. They were once common on Australian roads. The front styling is probably to look like a Chevy because it was filmed in Australia but supposed to be set in USA | 2006-09-05 11:08

Carfan ![]() | It was hard to tell what the mystery machine in the cartoon was. IT seemed like a Chevrolet Van, a Dodge A100, and a Ford Econoline all put together. | 2006-06-30 16:23

carfan ![]() | Why are there 2 mystery machines? | 2006-04-12 18:38
| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) | explorer4x4 | Later on in the series, I thought that they changed the VW Buse to an Econoline or Ram Van or was it earlier in the series, anyway I'm sure the VW bus wasn't the only Mistery Machine, and I can't tell why they didn't use a VW for the movie. | 2006-04-12 18:26 | |
| 1972 Bedford CF Scooby-Doo (2002) | explorer4x4 | Wait, so they used to vans for the Scooby-Doo movie? Man, they are cheap! And wasn't the origenal Mystery Machine (or whatever they call it) something more classic like a third generation Ford Econoline E-150 or a Dodge Ram Van? | 2006-04-12 18:22 | |

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
Saturn Simon ![]() | I think there are definitely two vehicles used. One is a Beford CF, the other is a larger Chevrolet G-Series van. | 2006-04-11 19:12
| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
Sunbar ![]() | Over the weekend I managed to record a few minutes of the movie onto Video tape. The quality isn't that good but I does prove the movie uses a CF van. The first picture, shown on this thread, has square-flush headlamps not found on the CF, and it has two horizontal slots at the rear of the hood/bonnet which don't appear on a CF. In addition to the door handle position mentioned before the CF has an almost flat area just above the grill whereas the other vehicle (which is also probably GM) slopes back almost immediately. ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-04-11 19:11:33 |

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
Sunbar ![]() | My conclusion...they used more than one vehicle for the movie or publicity purposes. Here is another I found on a web-site, (similar to a video I also found). This is a CF van! Handle position and front side window are correct. In the "other" van shots I have seen the door handle is positioned lower (also looks to be on a recessed panel) and there is a fixed quarter-lite in the front door glass which does not appear on a CF van. ![]() It would be good to get some shots from the actual movie. |

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
Sunbar ![]() | The CF was imported/assembled in Australia and/or New Zealand. The pictures I can find of Australian CF vans look no different to UK made vans. However I can see so many minor differences, even for a disguised vehicle, that these make me think this is not a CF. I guess until better pictures can be found I can only say that I am not convinced this is even a heavily re-worked CF. |

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
stronghold ![]() | The van used in the cartoon series..was more like a VW .! ![]() ..The van used in the film is a Bedford CF.! (..modified... but still a CF) ..as suspected ..I thought this film was made in Australia .. and have just checked the IMDB ..and it was a USA/Australian production. -- Last edit: 2006-03-15 13:34:46 |

| Chevrolet Chevy Van Scooby-Doo (2002) |
Sunbar ![]() | Carfan....why are you so sure it is a CF van? I have serious doubts that it is a CF..... even considering they would have changed the front grill, headlights and wheelarches. The position of the door handle on the (slam) door looks wrong, being about 2 to 3 inches below the belt line. The Bedford CF's handle was almost directly under the belt line. I was responsible for designing the facelift handle back in the 1970s and remember it's location. I doubt anyone trying to disguise the van would change the handle position. It would be too difficult as it directly contacts the door latch (not through a linkage). Also the wrap-around at the windscreen/windshield 'A' pillar looks wrong for a CF. In my opinion this is not a CF van. ![]() |
