antp wrote Wasn't there a rule about random parked/traffic cars not being listed in TV-Shows and Documentaries?

I listed it as a TV Show because at 40 minutes it's not really a TV movie (even IMDB seems to list it as one) and it's only a one-off, not a series.

I could always delete it, I only added it because it's on screen long enough to notice.

Sandie wrote Though even personally speaking if it was a movie or TV series I'd only have listed the Insignia ST out of the cars without roles.

Fair enough. At first I wasn't going to bother with the VW Golf that Alan parks next to either because it's so common, but I figured it was something someone else might have ended up adding later on. That's partly why I add more background vehicles now than I used to, if you look at /movie_129690-I-m-Alan-Partridge.html which I did in my first year on this site, there's no car park cars or stuff like that.

Sandie SXThe problem with this show is that it's a bit of a grey area as it is a mokumentary with actors. Though even personally speaking if it was a movie or TV series I'd only have listed the Insignia ST out of the cars without roles.

Nissan is least common but I *think* it is one.

Sandie SXAs an aside, it's not the first Insignia I've seen without it's (proper) front badge. Seems they break quite easily and the part is expensive to replace (you need to buy a whole new grill) so nobody really bothers to replace them (or in this case replace them properly). 2012-07-04 20:49

I'm not sure about the UK, but some magazine I read recently stated that latest-generation Mondeo saloons are almost non-existant compared to the far more popular hatchbacks. I'm guessing the same goes for the rest of Western Europe and the Insignia as well, IMHO those saloon variants are quite pointless.

BTW, I did some maintenance work on one of those 'rare' Mondeo saloons just a couple of days ago. :)

G-MANN UKWhen Alan opens the boot, only the boot lid bit opens rather than the whole rear window section, so I guess this must be the saloon (sedan) rather than the hatchback model (although they look the same).

Should these new fastback style cars like the Insignia and the Mondeo (which are available as saloons but look the same as the hatchback models) be listed as hatchback or saloon by default? Which is more common?

deltagolf FIIIRC the pre-facelift Renaults all had amber turn signal covers, while the Nissans had clear ones and the Opels/Vauxhalls had them integrated to the headlights. I'm fairly sure this is a Nissan. 2012-07-04 20:31

Sandie SXThe only difference is that the Nissan grill has the veins on the grill. From this distance, and on a van in a dark colour it might be difficult to make those out.

But the Trafic is more common, so it may be worth going for that.

Although Alan drives a Vauxhall Insignia, in the little animated bits showing where he's going, for some reason the car is a 2002-2008 Nissan Primera:
