By that logic the Astro 95 in Beverly Hills Cop qualifies since that was a very major chase sequence, too. IMO, a chase scene is still a chase scene regardless. And if a vehicle is only in said scene, I think it should get, at most, 3 stars total.

1989 Ford Taurus SHO
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
jc8825 USIt is a first gen SHO, but if you look at the front it appears that there is no engine in the car since the front sits up higher than it should, even being in a rear collision. What is in the back window? Also, further into the chase there is another SHO parked on the side of the street that get flipped and crushed when the crane is knocking over power poles. I just don't know why they picked SHOs to wreck. The SHOs are rare. They would have had to seek out SHOs specially whereas regular first gen Tauruses would have been easy to get a hold of.

Look at the B-pillars on the car and you will notice that they are painted body color. The B-pillars should be black. This means the car has been re-painted. It may have been a salvage car (due to the visible rear damage before the first impact) that they painted and wrecked for the movie. The initial damage seems minor, but due to the entire trunk leaning to one side, that is indicative of the car's unibody damage which cannot be repaired.

Better a Taurus than a Tempo? Are you serious?! The Tempo was horrible. The Taurus was the best selling car in America from 1987-1996 and was the car that saved Ford Motor Company from bankruptcy in the 80s. It was a great car, and Ford admitted that when they brought the name back after retiring it briefly.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
G-MANN UKAs I remember the Terminator drives off in this truck, then in another scene slams it into a building/gas tank (after running over the T-X, right?) and an explosion occurs. Am I right? Now that's about 30 seconds of screen time at the most, it would be a bit of stretch to give that a 3-star rating, especially in a film with so much other vehicle action.

When we say "used by a character" we really mean it's owned by a character or used in various scenes by a character. A vehicle that a character picks up in one scene and quickly gets rid of another scene is only really a minor use (2 stars).
