rtsbusman1997 ![]() | Yes. Very much. Although I was surprised to find a 2011 police car in a 2012 TV series (you rarely see a brand new police model in anything and if it is, it's a legit car for wherever they shoot the footage.) As a side note: The 1992s in NYPD Blue during the 1st season appear to be brand new props brought by the production (in fact, most of the production filmed in NYC around that time got cars from the manufacturer. Law and Order would update the main character's cars every now and then. They even got a brand new 1993-1994 Ford Crown Victoria [P71] patrol car around the time Chris Noth left the show in 1995. It has made appearances throughout the series: /vehicle_485039-Ford-Crown-Victoria-P71-1993.html, even appearing in SVU: /vehicle_336552-Ford-Crown-Victoria-P71-1993.html http://imcdb.org/vehicle_500904-Lexus-GS-S160-1997.html /vehicle_460846-Volvo-V70-R-2007.html ) -- Last edit: 2012-12-02 08:10:25 |

rtsbusman1997 ![]() | You do have a point. Shows like "Law and Order", "NYPD Blue", etc. have found Ford Crown Victorias and Chevrolet Caprices and movies like "Die Hard: With a Vengeance" have, 2-3 years after they were put into service. So you do have a point. ![]() |

Ford_Guy ![]() | It would have been very much plausible to find a 1995-1997 police car during that time period. Just check this page out to give you a current idea of how early some cars are retired: Link to "www.copcarsonline.com" |

| 1995 Ford Crown Victoria [P71] Breakfast of Champions (1999) |
rtsbusman1997 ![]() | Well, you have to remember that it appears that Ford Motor Company sponsored this movie (along with Chrysler, GM and a few other manufacturers.) However, considering it is a prop police car, how would you be able to find a retired 1995-1997 police car in 1998? (I doubt Ford held a car for 3-4 years after the fact, although it could have been sold by a police department or fire department around the particular filming area.) -- Last edit: 2012-12-02 05:54:41 |

| 1995 Ford Crown Victoria [P71] Breakfast of Champions (1999) |
Ford_Guy ![]() | I doubt it. It's a prop police car, not a real in-service one at the time of filming. Plus, the decal stripe runs across where the badge would be, indicating that it could have possible be removed if it was there to begin with. | 2012-12-02 05:34 | |

rtsbusman1997 ![]() | "Filming Dates: 27 February 1998 - 7 April 1998" Wouldn't be surprised if this was a brand new 1997 model. (At least a 1996-1997 model since there is no fender badge.) -- Last edit: 2012-12-01 21:00:59 |
