By driving through the night, you could wake up whole villages - just by using the engine-brake (with the anti-pressure in the exhaust). I grew up close to the town of Hannover. Every 1st of May annother great sound had woke me up: /vehicle_129187-Lanz-Bulldog.html At that day was(is?) an oldtimer- and tractor-meeting at the former Hanomag-factory. It has an "I" - for plates in this style an "I" was only available for a very few months, when this system was started in 1956. So if you find nowadays a German plate in this DIN-style with an "I", it must be from 1956 - and unbelievable rare. Such an "I-plate" from 1956 was shortly sold at eBay - for 355 Euro. By the way: last weekend on the big "Veterama"-oldtimer-market a friend of mine has found such a plate - for 20 Euro. Then I had to take care of him, that he don't start to be hysterical. I was not evying him, I got my "I"-plate some years ago. But for 2,50 DM (1,25 Euro)	2007-10-17 18:13

The planet names came into use only around 1955 when this version was superseded by the S 7500 Jupiter. The steering wheel is light grey, which was introduced in 1954, but the hings of the bootlid are painted and they should be chromed since 1954. The colour seems to be dark blue, new for 1955. 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster [W121.042] Das Mädchen Rosemarie (1996)	DynaMike	In the first years, the Roadster was only available in silver grey and it didn't have the chrome strips above the wheel arches. Since 1957 other colours became available. I think I can just see the clock (on the smaal door on the right of the dashboard), which was introduced in 1959, and since there seems to be no light for the rear license plate, this will have been in the missing overriders, introduced like that in September 1959. Therefore I'd say it's not a 1955 but a 1960+ model.	2007-10-17 01:08
