I can understand how in the heat of the moment you may show your anger through text but on a general basis I would think that one would be more careful when writing than with oral conversation. When I correct you it's more of constructive criticism. The reason is because I can't always understand what you are trying to say. When someone uses exclamation marks or all capital letters, it can come off as annoying. Even if it is a habit, I can't see how it can be compared to chain smoking when it's a simple difference between two keys on the computer.
