1956 Cadillac Ambulance Miller
Malcolm X (1992)
Animatronixx DEJudged from the quarter windows, this appears to be one of the last coaches built by A.J. Miller (before they were conjuncted with Meteor to form Miller-Meteor in 1957).

marknpgh289It is a '62 based on the grille. The rear of the roofline was different for '64. The upper rear corner is sharp rather tham curved. Lincoln used curved side glass on the '61-63 Continentals and flat glass starting in '64. 2007-11-29 06:23

Correction: All three models - Le Sabre, Invicta and Electra - were available in six-window four door sedan as well as four-window flattop four door hardtop configuration, so I am none the wiser. All i can say is this seems to be a six window sedan.

I can't exactly say if it is a LeSabre or a Electra, because I can't clearly see the rear window. The Electra had a panorama rear window while the LeSabre had a normal coupe like drop down window or whatever this is called....

mrcadillac SXI agree with "philr" that this door panel design is featured on the 1962 Cadillac 6-window "Sedan de Ville" (as well as the "Series 62" convertible, the "Coupe de Ville", the 4-window "Sedan de Ville" and the "Park Avenue Sedan de Ville". The seat pattern, however, does not match the door design, hence my initial doubts. In addition to style #6339, therefore, it could be also style #6329 or #6389. 2006-11-25 22:10

100% sure, the car has seat covers and not all Cadillacs have leather seats anyway! And the door panels are unique to the 1962 DeVille model. This one is a 6 window hardtop model 6329. This body style was available only on Buicks Oldsmobiles and Cadillacs.

The Autronic Eye (or Guide-Matic as it was called after 1959) dims the headlights. The Twilight Sentinel turns them on when it's dark and let them stay on for a few seconds after the ignition is shut off.

What do you mean it's supposed to be the same car as one in a film made ten years after this one? I think you mean the car in Dark Blue is supposed to resemble this one. The car you see here is actually the car Rodney King drove when he was chased by the LAPD, since this is from footage of the real life incident.

According to a review of Dark Blue, that's also archive footage of the Rodney King incident:
Zitat The action unfolds against the backdrop of a dark time in Los Angeles' recent history: the jury's deliberations regarding the guilt of the four officers who were tried for beating Rodney King. (The opening credits show footage of the 1991 incident.) The riots that occurred in the aftermath of the "not guilty" verdict represent an effective setting for the film's final sequences. The scenes taking place in the strife-torn streets are eerie and effective.

The absence of a side view and any tail-gate markings make it impossible to positively identify the coachbuilder.
