http://www.motofoto.cc/Police_Motorcycles.htm a écrit A LongTech-mounted police officer in rural China. I grabbed this shot in 2001. Note the OHV BMW-clone engine. China has three or four companies making clones of the older BMW-boxer engine bikes, including some with early-1930s-design flathead engines!

Ford Transit MkI
Jing cha gu shi III: Chao ji jing cha (1992)
chris40 ENIt was certainly common on ambulances and fire-service vehicles built on the Mk.I 3,5t chassis in the UK. If you recall, the Mk.Is were normally fitted with the V4 2-litre from the bigger Corsairs, which was a very short unit - but not really powerful enough for 3,5t Transits - as I know only too well. (BTW I keep mentioning that UK ambulances with the Diesel front are probably V6s, but nobody takes any notice; they still post them as Diesels.) 2009-04-04 18:26

cl82 DEReally? I did not know that this measure required the Diesel front, but I knew that the V 6 engines did fit indeed. Would be nice to have one of those Transits with the 3-litre Essex engine. Ah, rather not, because I can still remember the cars horrible suspension, the awful steering and the lackluster brakes. 2009-04-04 17:09

chris40 ENApparently, yes, but Mk.I emergency vehicles sometimes had a V6 unit which necessitated fitting the Diesel front due to the extra length of the engine. 2009-04-03 21:48

nzcarnerd NZI think the word you were looking for was Venture. Yamaha's answer to the Honda Gold Wing and the Suzuki Cavalcade, among others. I am not sure how many years this model was current for but it began in 1983. Call it a 1983 Yamaha 1200 Venture.

rpcm PTBy what is possible to see of its hood, I would say it's a 1964+ MkII ( MkIII had fixed hoods ). 2008-06-23 21:48
