Bis ans Ende der Welt (1991) sayuri VEThere was a brief but shocking part played by one of the most exotic vehicles ever: a Peraves Ecomobile. The Ecomobile is a Swiss-made cabin motorcycle, that is, a BMW bike with a full fairing that needs motorized wheels to help it to remain upright when travelling at low speeds.

In this movie, the Rover P5 is intercepted by a policeman who is using the Ecomobile as his bike, so it is painted to look like one. When the policeman goes away, it's clearly seen how the Ecomobile retracts its stabilizer wheels. It seems that Wenders wanted to find a futuristic vehicle, and the Ecomobile's missile-like appearance certainly does the part.

Citation 'Bis ans Ende der Welt', a French, German and Australian co-production, directed by
Wim Wenders. It's one of the best road movie I've seen. Came out in 1991. The english title is
'Until the End of the World', and features music by U2 and one of the guys in the Peugeot 604 is Eddy
Mitchell! The women driving the Rover P5 is Solveig Dommartin.


The film is set in 1999.
