hiergehts CHAl you need to do to 'kill' a Suburban is raise the price of fuel a bit hgher as then no one normal could afford to drive one.. and the much more efficient (and infinately cooler) DS would win.. Tempos/Topazes just self-destruct on their own..... :D

Explorer4x4No, if we took our Excursion V8 diesel, gas prices would not touch us! In fact, raise it to $100+ for all I care! It gets betetr fuel economy then a Toyota Prius, Honda Insight and smart Fortwo combined!

Also, the Tempo old over 3,000,000 cars from 1984 to 1994, more then Hyundai's or Kia's entire lineup in 10 years.

Explorer4x4I was replying to Stonghold, saying that Tempo's self destruct when in actuality, they outsold complete makes!

And if you meant the Excursion gets the best mileage: it is easy to convert diesel cars to run on the recycleable and free vegetable oil. And, full-size SUVs and trucks are traditionaly the only cars to run on diesel (with the exception of Volkswagens and Hyundais), therefore and an Excursion can get better mileage then a Honda Insight. Plus, it means you have more power and more room with better fuel economy then a smart Fortwo, or any other hybrid for that matter.

I said the Tempo/Topaz self-destruct as they're just poorly made, 'throw-away' vehicles. Perhaps 3 million were made over 10 years but I can say for certain no where near that many still exist.. Probably something on the order of 10-20% are left if your lucky.

Firstly, maybe in the US you only see such big SUVs running on diesel, but there are other diesel powered cars available in the US...and, Hyundai does not sell any diesel vehicles in the US market. Take a look : http://www.hyundaiusa.com/

Otherwise, what you say is absolute and total rubbish... "Fuel" economy means getting more distance out of a specific amount of a fuel, be it bio-diesel, gasoline or whatever so saying "if we took our Excursion V8 diesel, gas prices would not touch us! In fact, raise it to $100+ for all I care! It gets betetr fuel economy then a Toyota Prius, Honda Insight and smart Fortwo combined!" is a plain and simple lack of understanding of the facts about fuel prices in the US as most bio-diesel costs about the same as regular diesel fuel which generally costs more then regular gasoline.. So, if gasoline goes to $100/gallon, you'd be paying MORE then that to run your Excursion V8 diesel, which weighs more then twice the other 3 do and doesn't get anywhere close to the same "fuel" economy that they do as they're powered by small, efficient 4 cyl. engines or that + electric motors. You seriously need to get your facts straight before you make such ignorant and baseless claims.. Start here to compare the cost of fuel in New York city - Link to "autos.msn.com"

Delta Fox USDo you want a 440 under the hood? Does the paint scheme matter? 2006-09-20 22:32
wickey SKquestion - there are lots of 5 stars cars here.. Are these really used as much? I mean 5 stars in the series deserves car used by main character in every episode I believe - (KITT in Knight Rider, GMC Vandura in A-Team etc..) 2006-10-06 01:25
antp BEActually even if used in each episode by main character it could get a 4-star rating.
5-star is for famous cars like the A-Team van, or character-cars like KITT.
