Actually this is a late Series IIa. From 1968 the headlights moved from the grill to the wings, due to export regulations. The difference to a Series III (1971-83) is the look of the grill, which on Series IIa is made of wire-mesh, on Series III of plastic.

Take a look at
/vehicle_3000-Land-Rover-Series-III.html
to spot the difference.

Additionally the door-hinges are flatter on the Series III -- rather difficult to notice :-)

So the full name is:
Land-Rover 109'' Station Wagon Series IIa (1968-1971)
