Possibly a Moon of about 1917-8. |

A brass Ford T on the right maybe about 1914. |

Now this sounds very lofty when I say it, but this car resembles a 1916-20 Moore (Moore Vehicle Co. of Minneapolis, MN, later Danville, IL) For reference, Standard Catalog of American Automobiles, pp. 999. However, this will be very unlikely as less than 1,000 Moores were sold, and the company was headed first in Minneapolis and later Danville while the film was filmed in California. |

After numerous comparisons of smaller, but still major makes from the timeperiod 1915-19, I think I finally may have the answer. This looks to be a 1916-17 Auburn roadster. I am still not 100% sure, but this is by far the closest ID I got: http://www.remarkablecars.com/photos/1916-auburn-chummy-07200.jpg http://www.remarkablecars.com/photos/1916-auburn-chummy-07198.jpg There are very little details both in the thumb and on the main pic, but from what is visible it is the closest match I have found so far. The rear window in the film was a rectangular design while the Auburn has a double porthole, but in 103 years that can easily be changed. -- Last edit: 2019-01-10 17:19:40 |

It looks 90% correct. Because the picture quality is low, it's hard to be sure of anything. Let's put Auburn. |
