I can't prove it, but I think it's another Busaf.

It could be built by any of a number of bus body builders in ZA. I must confess that the curvature (or lack thereof) of the front wheel arch throws me out a bit - I haven't seen that before, and it looks a bit custom-made. The general appearance of the bus looks more like that of a De Haan (http://www.dehaans.co.za/history_gallery1.asp) or that of a number of other companies than a Busaf, but again I am quite convinced that it will not be a Tata.

Could someone change this back to unknown? It was never more than "could be a Tata".

This is bodywork by PUTCO, the large South African operator which served the balck communities. It had three body building factories but never put their names on the buses and they all built the same model so I would keep it as PUTCO.

Here's a picture of a similar bus, taken in 1994 in Johannesburg. This model was new then: [Image: 1765-09.jpg]
